Guidelines and Conceptual Understandings1. The exhibition is the culminating, collaborative experience in the final
year of the PYP.2. The exhibition is an authentic process for students to explore, document
and share their understanding of an issue or opportunity of personal significance.
3. All exhibitions are student-initiated, designed and collaborative.4. The degree to which students are engaged with planning and
implementing their exhibition depends on the students and schools’ experience with the PYP.

Students demonstrate their understanding of an issue or opportunity they have
chosen to explore.
They undertake their investigation both individually
and with their peers,
with the guidance of a mentor
students demonstrate their ability to take responsibility for their learning—and their
capacity to take action—
as they are actively engaged in planning, presenting and
assessing learning.

Responsible for own learning and contacting and organizing meeting with their mentors
Support development of essential elements and act as mentors when needed
Provide PD to teachers involved, promote PYPx in the wider IB network. Allocate time and funds.
May be drawn from all members of the learning community. Help the students set their goal. They may also contribute as subject area experts.
Are informed and encouraged to contribute their expertise and feedback. They may act as mentors as appropriate.
