What was it about:

Made slavery in the Louisiana Territory north of Missouri’s southern border

President James Monroe stated that the European countries would no longer be allowed to create new colonies or interfere with independent nations in the Western Hemisphere

Battle of the Alamo was an important battle in the Texas War of Independence
Leaders: James Bowie, William Travis and Davy Crockett
Fought against Mexican soldiers (Mexican-American war)
Texans lost at the Alamo, THIS LOSS encouraged the remaining soldiers to continue fighting and eventually gained the Texan independence at the Battle of San Jacinto

Treaty of New Echota: Cherokee had to give up their land east of the Mississippi
