September is Baby Safety Month. Are you doing everything you should to keep your baby safe? Medical checkups are important in the early years of a baby’s life. Childhood immunizations start at birth and continue through
adolescence. Always put your baby to sleep on his or her back. Install gates at the top and bottom of stairs once a baby begins to
crawl. Always buckle your baby into a rear-facing car seat. Never shake your baby. Source: Journeyworks Publishing

S’mores - The great thing about s’mores is that you can make them on a grill,
over a campfire, or even in your microwave, in less than a minute! How cool is
that? All you need are some graham crackers, chocolate bars, and (of course)
marshmallows. If you can’t roast the marshmallows over an open fire, try this
method to nuke your s’mores instead: Put a piece of chocolate on one cracker
and top with a marshmallow, then microwave on a plate, open-faced, for about
10-15 seconds. Top with another cracker and serve! YUM!

August—National Breastfeeding Month
Breastfeeding...the gift of life Breastfeeding strengthens our children, our communities and our future. Breastfeeding also helps both mom and baby avoid many health problems such as ear infections, diabetes and leukemia. Mother’s milk gives baby special protection and it’s easily digested. Breastfed babies have higher IQs. Breastfeeding is convenient. It helps shrink the uterus. Moms may return to their pre-pregnancy weight quicker.
