On behalf of the Board of Directors, Administration, Faculty and Staff, we would like to welcome you to IC Catholic Prep, The School for Independent Thinkers. We are a college preparatory high school built on the solid foundation of the Catholic faith.

Expect MORE at IC Catholic Prep. The Faculty and Staff at ICCP take a genuine interest in each of our students, continuously challenging, empowering and nurturing them. Our students receive the guidance and academic rigor of a true college prep curriculum, but it doesn’t stop there. Our students also develop character, selflessness and confidence. They realize the value of attending a smaller school and capitalize on their opportunity to get involved and build a solid resume that allows them to enter the college of their choice.

But don’t take our word for it – see for yourself. Do your research and talk to another parent with a student who graduated from or currently attends ICCP. Or join us for an Open House, Sporting Event, or go on a tour of our campus. You will experience first-hand why IC Catholic Prep is the right choice for your student and family.

locatIoNthe iC Catholic prep campus is centrally located in the heart of elmhurst. this safe and beautiful town is a wonderful place to send your children to school. Clearly defined by illinois highway 83 on the west, interstate highway 294 on the east, Grand Avenue on the north and roosevelt road on the south, elmhurst is one of Dupage County's more mature suburbs that successfully achieved the New urbanism ideal, with houses on grids that surround a pedestran friendly downtown. Our central location and close proximity to major streets and expressways makes the drive to iC Catholic prep convenient from anywhere.

traNSPortatIoNiCCp offers bus transportation to our families. routes are assessed every year based on the geographic location of our students (some restrictions apply). Bus schedules are developed in the spring following registration.

the metra union pacific West line station is also a great option. it's an easy two block walk from our campus and services 10 towns to the west of elmhurst and six towns to the east.

academIc ProGramSiC Catholic prep offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum with emphasis on the core subject areas essential for college admission. Our core subjects include english, mathematics, laboratory sciences, social sciences and Foreign languages. Additionally, iCCp requires course work in religious studies, Business, Computer science and physical education. elective courses are offered so that students may pursue their unique interests. each student at iCCp is challenged and encouraged to achieve success according to their level of ability.

hoNorS ProGramiC Catholic prep’s honors program is designed for students with high ability or special interests. students are invited to participate based on their entrance exam scores and their academic performance. these courses cover more advanced material and move at a faster pace, and students do more independent work. honors courses carry a weighted grade. All courses not designated as “honors” are college preparatory.

adVaNced PlacemeNt (aP) ProGramAdvanced placement (Ap) courses are equivalent to college courses. the purpose of an Ap course is to prepare students to successfully complete the corresponding College Board Ap examination given at the end of the school year so that the students may earn college credit. therefore, Ap classes require high levels of reading, critical thinking, and especially writing skills. students must be able to perform at an accelerated level to accommodate large amounts of subject content. iC Catholic prep offers Advanced placement courses in english, Foreign language, mathematics, science and social science.

elmhurSt colleGe SeNIor oPtIoN iC Catholic prep has a partnership with elmhurst College which allows an iCCp student to take up to two courses at the college and earn college credit. if a student qualifies for the elmhurst College senior Option, the course can be taken at no additional cost (included as part of iCCp tuition). this option is available to students who have successfully completed the offered Ap Classes at iCCp and fulfilled their graduation requirements.

At IC Catholic Prep, students have an opportunity to enhance a lifelong passion for learning. Their experiences at ICCP will open their mind to new concepts and interests. We will give them the tools to tackle any scholastic challenge as well as lead them to discover their hidden talents and the potential that lies within.

Everything they do at ICCP will move them closer to their goal of entering the college of their choice. They will develop top notch study skills, become masters of time management and improve their test taking ability in preparation for the academic challenges that lie ahead. College Prep, Honors, AP courses and the Elmhurst College Senior Option Program provide multiple avenues to pursue accelerated learning.

Break the Mold. While many students seek the anonymity of a bigger high school, as still others simply follow their grade school friends to one high school or another, IC Catholic Prep is methodically developing a different kind of student – these are the industry-building entrepreneurs of the future, the imagination-bending artists, the let’s-get-going leaders, the I-will-make-a-difference citizens – and we welcome them and nurture them and empower their independent thinking at ICCP not because they fit some mold, but rather because they are the ones who seek to break it.

Experience How High School Should Be.Imagine a high school full of smart, talented, open-minded and open-hearted young people where students know almost every other student’s name; where teachers yell "good luck tonight" to a student athlete from the opposite end of a crowded hallway; where class discussions are candid and challenging and students speak their minds and ask the really big questions; where students tutor classmates during lunch and students refer to their school as “we” and “us” and “our” without even realizing they are doing it – this is how high school should be, and this is how high school is at IC Catholic Prep.

Reach Your Potential.IC Catholic Prep faculty, many of whom are born teachers, personally invest themselves in the success of their individual students, working closely with them before, during and even after school hours to ensure each young man or woman receives the one-on-one attention, subject matter expertise, and continual encouragement they often need and very much deserve in order to reach their god-given potential, and then some.

Surprise Yourself. At IC Catholic Prep, we gently nudge students to take classes or join extracurriculars that lay just beyond their comfort zone – maybe he is an athlete who wants to act in a play but is afraid; or maybe she is a second-generation Italian who wants to know what her naples-born grandparents really talk about at Thanksgiving but doesn’t speak the language; or maybe he is an average-to-good student who has a true gift for writing, wants to apply for AP English, but wonders if he can cut it – we nudge them because we believe that when a student takes a chance and surprise themselves, even if they make mistakes, that’s when the real learning begins at IC Catholic Prep.

Succeed at more than just College. It’s been proven time and time again that students at IC Catholic Prep learn the academic fundamentals to absolutely thrive in the college of their choice. We also equip them with the character to make the right decision even when no one’s looking, the selflessness to stop for a moment and help someone who may suddenly find themselves helpless, and the courage to challenge the norm, to stand-up to the herd mentality, and to maybe – just maybe – move the world in a slightly better direction because they did. At ICCP, students have an opportunity to learn something more. They are challenged and inspired to think independently, act selflessly, and lead confidently so they will succeed in college, thrive in life and make the world a better place.

Matter More.We are proud of each and every one of our students, as they shine in their own unique and individual ways. Our students matter more to us than just their collective ACT scores or the number of Ivy league schools accepting them – in fact, pull a boy or girl from our hallways and we will know their individual strengths, their personal challenges, their secret aspirations, their hidden fears, their BFF’s, whether or not they take a train to school each morning or whether someone drops them off, and so on – we know these things not because we need to or because the State dictates we do, but rather because we care about our students, every single one of them, for the young person they are today and for the mother/father/friend/neighbor/leader/disciple they will surely become tomorrow. At ICCP, you’ll surprise yourself with all the new talents you will uncover. It is very real when we say that at IC Catholic Prep you will matter more here. you will. unique
