COVID-19: Stay home if you are unwell
Port Blair, Nov. 27 The ANIIDCOoperates MegapodeResort, a premium resortspread in an area of 7.5acres having 33 roomsand cottages, conferencehall, restaurant etc.overlooking the sea atPort Blair. TheCorporation consideringthe growth of tourism inthe Islands hasundertaken expansionplan of the resort andengaged an architecturalconsultant through acompetitive bidding. The architecturalconsultant has preparedMaster Plan for thedevelopment of theresort in two phaseshaving 130 rooms and
other facilities. In thefirst phase, it isproposed to undertakeconstruction of twoblocks having 70 rooms,banquet hall,swimming pool,restaurant, lobby andother facilities. Theresort will meet 5 starcategorization by Govt.of India tourism andgreen building rating by
GRIHA. The resort willalso have provision forsolar power, rain waterharvesting, sewagetreatment plant, etc. Thetotal estimated cost of theproject including civil,electrical and furnishingis Rs. 76.07 crores. The APWD on behalfof ANIIDCO hasundertaken theconstruction of the
project on deposit workbasis and invited tenderfor civil and electricalworks at an estimatedcost of Rs. 66.19 crores.The last date forsubmission of the tenderis 23.12.2020 and a pre-bid meeting is proposedto be held at 3.30 pm on03.12.2020 with agenciesinterested inundertaking the
construction work. Theestimated projectcompletion time periodis 18 months from thedate of the award of thework. The e-tenderforms and other detailscan be obtained fromthe website http://eprocure.andaman.gov.in,a press release fromManaging Director,ANIIDCO said.

cooperation to Enumerators during data collectionPort Blair, Nov. 27 A high level sensitization programmeon Farming Acts, AIF & FPOs forempowering farmers andstrengthening marketing sector on theprovisions of two Farming Acts(enacted by GoI), AgricultureInfrastructure Fund (AIF) and FarmersProducer Organization (FPOs) wasjointly organized by the Departmentof Agriculture & NABARD inassociation with AgricultureTechnology Management Agency(ATMA) in the conference hall ofIndustries Department yesterday. The programme was inauguratedby Ms. Veditha Reddy, Secretary(Agri.), A & N Administration duringwhich she highlighted about 'TheFarmers' produce Trade andCommerce (Promotion & Facilitation)Act 2020' and 'The Farmers(Empowerment and Protection)Agreement on Price Assurance andFarm Services Act'. She alsoemphasized that at least one FPO has

The data will be collectedthrough door to door survey of eachhousehold and commercialestablishment under theprovisions of collection of StatisticsAct 2008. It mandates every personto share information for 7th EC.

TheDepartment of SocialWelfare, A&NAdministration isproviding Old AgePension @ Rs 2,500/- pmto Senior Citizens in theage group of 60 to 79years and Rs. 3,000/- pmto Senior Citizens of 80years and above. Theaim of the scheme is toprovide social securityby way of financialassistance to destitute,
senior citizens who arewithout any means ofsubsistence and havingno one to give financialsupport to them for theirlivelihood. In A&N Islands, sofar, 14435 beneficiariesbetween the age of 60 to79 years including 571beneficiaries of 80 yearsare receiving theirmonthly pension under
the Old Age PensionScheme. As per thescheme, only those whoare permanent residentsof A&N Islands orhaving resided in thisterritory for not less than10 years immediatelypreceding the date ofapplications are eligiblefor receiving financialassistance.

Civil Aviation has extended
the ban on international
flights till December 31 in
view of the coronavirus.
However, it said that
international scheduled
flights may be allowed on
certain routes by the
competent authority on a
case-to-case basis.
The DGCA ban on the
scheduled international
flights was to end on the
30th of this month. India
has established air bubble
agreements with about 18
countries, including US,
UK, France, UAE, Qatar
Maldives, Kenya and
Bhutan. This pact allows
the operation of special
flights between the
countries.
The scheduled flights -
both domestic and
international flights were
suspended on 23rd of
March due to the
pandemic.
The Centre allowed
domestic flight services to
resume on May 25, but at
only one-third capacity.

The categories under which a person is eligiblefor financial assistance include: a person incapableof doing any kind of remunerative work for theirlivelihood, whose monthly income does not exceedRs. 4000/-, person who has attained the age of 60years on the date of application; destitute havingno means of livelihood and getting no support fromany relative. A person shall be deemed to bedestitute if none of his/her son are in a position togive him/her the required financial support. Application for financial assistance can besubmitted in the prescribed format in the Officesof the concerned Child Development Officeslocated at Port Blair, Ferrargunj, Rangat, Diglipurand Car Nicobar. The application form are availablefree of cost at the Directorate of Social Welfare, PortBlair and the Sub Divisional Offices of CDPOs.

During the programme, farmers were exposed tovarious facets of feed based aquaculture. They werealso taken for field visit to a Model Fish Farm atBimblitan. In order to develop entrepreneurship,details on formation of SHGs/ FPOs andopportunities through various schemes for financialsupport were also deliberated to the farmers. During the feedback session of valedictoryfunction, some of the farmers have expressed theirwillingness to establish their own fish feed mill andurged ICAR-CIARI to provide the technicalbackstopping and financial institutions for theirsupport. Addressing the participants, the chief guest, ShriV. Mashar, GM, NABARD lauded the role of ICAR-CIARI in popularizing the fish feed among Islandfarmers and also deliberated the avenues forfinancial support. In his address, Dr. B.A. Jerard,Director, ICAR-CIARI appreciated the interest offarmers and informed that the fish feed mill facilityof ICAR-CIARI can be extended as an incubationfacility to build up the confidence of farmers onentrepreneurship development. Member Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Medical Education Research Society (ANIMERS) invites application from retired Deputy Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Assistant Director well versed with Establishment/Administrative Rules, procedures and accounting procedures/ policies who have served in Central Government / Andaman and Nicobar Administration, for engagement as Accounts Officer and AD (Admin.) on contract basis for a period of (06) six months. Interested persons who possess good health, and are in a position to join immediately may walk in for a interview to be held on 02.12.2020 at 10.00 am at the Conference hall, Directorate of Health Services, Port Blair.

In case if it is detected at any stage of selection that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these short comings is/are detected even after selection, his/her services are liable to be terminated without any notice. 7. It shall be ensured by the candidates that the social distancing norms and COVID-19 protocols of wearing mask/ covering the face and maintaining respiratory etiquettes shall be strictly followed by them during the process. 8.
