PIPING THERMAL GROWTH:-
1. THERMAL GROWTH COEFFICIENT = 0.0000125 mt / mt c
2. OPERATING TEMPERATURE = 5.5 C
3. TEMP. AT TIME OF INSTALLATION = 48 C
EXPECTED THERMAL GROWTH((L)= L* * (T mt / mt c L = LENGTH OF THE PIPE INSTALLED IN THE BRIDGE. (38 MTR) (T= (DIFF.BETWEEN TEMP.AT TIME OF INSTILL. --- OPERA.TEMP). = THERMAL GROWTH CO-EFFICIENT (0.0000125 mt / mt c).
EXPECTED THERMAL GROWTH ((L) = L* * (T mt / mt c
= 38* 0.0000125* (48-5.5)
= 0.02019 mt / mt c
= 20.19 mm / mt c.
We use victaulic coupling (flexible coupling style 077).
Max.available movement per style 77 flexible coupling is 6.4mm with cut grooved pipe for 10" dia.
