KARTELL BY LAUFEN Fixtures & Fittings is thrilled to announce their new line Kartell by Laufen, an unprecedented collection that takes its place on the market stage as an aspirational project with great persuasive capacity. With design and total quality as its watchwords, the Kartell by Laufen bathroom takes shape as an interconnected ecosystem where washbasins, sanitaryware, taps and fittings, storage units, shower bases, bathtubs, lights and accessories coexist with the maximum flexibility. The collaboration has brought to life the revolutionary SaphirKeramik – a material twice-as-strong, more ecological and thinner than ceramic – that allows performance characteristics that were unthinkable until today. Fixtures & Fittings Showroom 171

COLOR-COATED GLASS Sleek color-coated glass countertops and backsplashes in over 300 colors and various widths all available at Dauphin Sales. Functional and extremely attractive, glass countertops and backsplashes make it possible to integrate art into the kitchen, as well as many other areas of the home. Glass is a non-porous material; therefore, there are no chances of bacteria and mold thriving on countertops like it can on granite. Best of all, these “green” glass countertops and backsplashes are recyclable, sustainable, and LEED approved. This gorgeous Dauphin Sales + Ken Kehoe & Co. collaboration of design is just one of the many ways to incorporate glass into the home. Dauphin Sales Showroom 273

NEW FABRIC COLLECTION Scalamandré welcomes its newest collection, Modern Nature. Inspired by the beautiful textures, patterns and hues of nature, this collection gives a luxurious, of-the-moment look to the contemporary interior. Silky velvet, metallic ink, fine satin and the subtle glint of embroidery add a bit of shimmer and urbane glamour to soft, supple cotton and linen weaves. Ideal for layering with Scalamandré’s newest metallicized cork, grasscloth and metal leaf wallcoverings, these textured fabrics layer together seamlessly for a variety of interior schemes. Their quiet sophistication and peaceful palette are perfect for creating a natural retreat from the modern world. Scalamandré Showroom 103

Spring Design Sip & Stroll

HDC is proud to partner with LUXE Interiors + Design for the 6th year to present the 2nd Tuesday series dedicated to providing the design community with the latest in trends and continuing education. LUXE Interiors + Design is the destination where design enthusiasts, architects and designers connect.

One of the highlights of 2nd Tuesday this year was a panel discussion on “Best Practices on Projects Beyond the Borders ” with designers Suzanne Duin, Janus Lazarus and Bill Stubbs. Publisher Amy McAnally moderated the panel and the event was hosted by Bunch & Shoemaker Showroom.

Interior designers also attended a program on “Market Trends that Affect Your Business” presented by Estudio Group CEO Fred Jackson at Postmodern Traditions Showroom. The day ended with a “Lunch and Learn with Sherwin Williams” at ASID chapter office presented by Nubia Heinz.

HDC and Modern Interiors Texas hosted its annual Spring Design Sip & Stroll honoring Audi Central Houston’s Leaders in Design. This celebration recognized two design luminaries including John Barron Kidd and Darla Bankston-May. Modern Interiors Texas’ Jennifer Cope welcomed more than one hundred guests who enjoyed fine wines from Flora Springs and cocktails from Brugal Rum and Macallen Scotch as they toured participating showrooms including Dauphin Sales, Ken Kehoe & Company, Osborne Cabinets & Millwork, Charlotte Nail Antiques, Thorntree Slate & Marble and ASID.
