50 years ago this summer we landed on the moon – How amazing! With more than half a billion people watching
on television, astronaut Neil Armstrong climbed down the ladder and proclaimed, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” Wow. Doesn’t that spark the imagination of what is possible for humankind?
So we ask ourselves, and we ask you this summer, “What are you dreaming? What would you like to explore? To create? To discover? To read?” Will we discover thousands and thousands of things, or have that perfect moment where talents and endeavors align? We hope that happens when you join the all-ages Summer Reading Challenge and “Expand Your Universe.” Perhaps that moment will occur in our makerspace, The Hub, where a 3D print can be transformed into, well ... almost anything! Or maybe you will help us dream about all the places we’ll go as a library by sharing your insights through our upcoming community survey and focus groups.
Whatever your unique dreams or discoveries this summer, we are excited to help you take “one small step” or “one giant leap” together as a team, as a library, and as a community!
