Re: PD 200500221 Amended Injection well order application for Burkes Permian Unit,Tract12We11 1- I

Dear Mr . Hayden

As per Suchard's request, please find enclosed the radius of endangerment calculation, a copy ofthe Permian sand formation core analysis (with resultant average permeability and porositycalculations), and static fluid level analysis for a shut-in offset Burkes Permian Unit well . I hopethis information is sufficient to allow approval of our injection order request . Thank you for youhelp in this request.

ROUTINE CORE ANALYSIS RESULTS

MAY 2 s 200 7

Core analysis data is presented in tabular and graphical form in this report . A porosity vs .permeability plot is included for statistical evaluation . Because most of the samples for Cores1 , 3 and 4 were not suitable for analysis, the data is not included in the statistical report or thecrossplot . A Core Gamma Log is also provided at the end of this report for downhole E-logcorrelation .

SAMPLE PREPARATION

PLUG TRIlUIlI41NG : The core plugs were trimmed using a saw equipped with diamondblades . The samples were cut in water as fluid saturations were not requested . The plugswere faced with a diamond facing tool to provide right circular cylinders. T rimmed ends forall plugs were catalogued and stored .

PLUG CLEANING : The samples were e xtracted of hydroc arbons in a soxhlet extractor .Toluene was used as the refluxing solvent . Extraction was continued until the return ingsolvent was clear .

SAMPLE DRYING : The samples were dried in a convection oven at 240 ° F for 24 hours .

CMS-300 (PERFORMED ON 28 PLUGGED SAMPLES )

Samples are analyzed using the CMS-300 automated core measurement system thatincorporates a porosimeter and permeameter into one instrument . The CMS-300 systemperforms computer-controlled, unsteady-state, pressure-transient measurements of rese rvoirrock pore volumes , porosity, Klinkenberg permeability , Forchheimer inert ial factor andKlinkenberg slip factor at up to eight specified confining pressures between 500 psi and10 ,000 psi . This allows measurements to be made at overburden pres sures morerepresentative of reservoir conditions . Helium is the test gas used .

POROSITY : Porosity is defined as the ratio of the pore volume to the bulk volume ofmaterial .

Pore Volume (Volume Of Helium Injected Into The Pore S pace By The CMS)Porosity = Bulk Volume (Volume Of The Plug As Determined By A Fowler Ultra-Call

Mark III Digital Caliper )

This equation corrects for bulk volume reduction as overburden pressure is applied .y

ST ~~L B

Page 12: EXHIBITS/ATTACHMENTS I L F E MAY 2 s 2007 SUBMITTED BY U

5 0022 1 - rv~~~2~Z007Q

PERMEABILITY : Permeability is a measure of the ability of a porous material to transmitfluid .

Kinf = Kinkenberg corrected permeab ility . Equivalent, non-reactive, liquid permeab ilitydetermined by the CMS at up to eight designated , net-overburden, confiningstresses . This is an improved flow capacity indicator since gas slippage effectspresent at low laborato ry pore pressure (and not at reservoir conditions) havebeen eliminated .

Kair = A calculated air permeability approximating historical core analysis permeabi litydata . Kair is an optimistic value . Low pressures in historical laborato rymeasurements result in gas slippage not present at reservoir conditions and createartificially high permeability values .

GRAIN DENSITY : Calculated grain densities were obtained ut ilizing bulk volume and porevolume measurements and clean, dry sample weights . Grain densities were checked againstlithology standards.

Grain Density =Dry Weight

Bulk Volume - Pore Volume

LITHOLOGY DESCRIPTION

Samples are described using a Nikon binocular microscope and macroscopic examination .Rock type, color, grain size , cements , structures and other physical obse rvations are noted .Abbreviations are from Swanson's Sample Examination Manual (Swanson , R . G ., 1981 ,Sample Examination Manual , Methods of Exploration Series : Tulsa, The AmericanAssociation of Petroleum Geologists) .

EXPLANATION OF NEED FOR AMENDED SURFACE PRESSURE MAXIMUM

Mack Energy Co . is the operator of the Burkes Permian Unit (BPU) in Grady Co ., Oklahoma.Water injection was initiated in May 2002 . Shortly after reservoir fill-up was achieved it wasdetermined that the initially permitted surface pressure of 750 psi would be problematic for prope rmaintenance and sweep of the flooded intervals . In 2005, stimulation treatments determined thatthe fracture gradient for the Permian C and D sands was approximately 1 .05, based upon aninstantaneous shut-in pressure (ISIP) of 1036 psi on a fracture stimulation treatment of the BPU10-1I well .

FG (fracture gadient) = (PhYd,.,1uc + ISIP) / DepthFG =[(0.433 psi/ft) (1688 ft) + 1036 psi] / 1688 ftFG = 731 psi + 1036 psi ]/ 1688 ftFG = 1767 psi ]/ 1688 ftFG =1 .05 psi/ft

This pa rticular well is in the geographic and geologic middle of the unit formations and thus isrepresentative of the majority of the injection wells in the flood. Based upon these rese rvoirconditions we seek the amended surface pressure relief in the application to the OCC / UIC .
