Joint welcome from the Province of British Columbia and the First Nations Leadership Council

It is our great pleasure to welcome all delegates to the 6th annual

B.C. Cabinet & First Nations Leaders’ Gathering held on the territories

of the Xʷməθkʷəy ̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and

səl ̓ilwətaʔɬ/sel ̓ílwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.

The Gathering is organized in partnership between the First Nations

Leadership Council and the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and

Reconciliation.

The Gathering offers numerous opportunities for First Nations leaders

to meet with B.C. Cabinet Ministers and ministry executive on issues

of importance to your communities, and to build relationships with

leaders from other communities.

Reconciliation is a cross-government priority. This gathering offers us

all face-to-face opportunities to continue on the path towards building

a fair, just and equitable partnership where we are working together

to advance respectful government-to-government relationships that

support reconciliation and self-determination.
