TRADE SHOW PLANNINGTRADE SHOW PLANNING

1 WHICH TYPE OF PARTICIPATION IS THE MOST PROMISING?You can present your organization with your own trade show stand or share a stand together with other exhibitors. An individual stand is able to express your organization’s corporate design and must be individually coordinated. Participation in a shared stand costs less and requires less work. As a co-exhibitorofacountryorassociationyoucanbenefitfromtheexperienceofthemainexhibitor, and will have less front-end organizational work.

2 WHICH TYPE OF STAND IS BEST?There are stands with one, two, three or four open sides. The more open sides you have, the more visible you are to visitors. Row-stands have the lowest prices. A surcharge is imposed on corner, peninsula and island stands.

3 WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BASIC AND PREMIUM SHELL SCHEME?

Premium Shell Scheme Basic Shell Scheme

4 CAN I CHOOSE MY OWN STAND CONSTRUCTION COMPANY?SYMAistheofficialITBChinastandconstructioncompanytoreliablyhelpyouwithallconstructionmatters. If you have chosen a shell scheme package for your participation your constructions will be mandatorily taken care by SYMA. If you have chosen a raw space option and desire an individual stand construction you are free to choose between appointing SYMA or a vendor of your choice.

Firstofall,fine-tunetheoverallconceptofyourtradeshowstandsothatitrepresentsyourgoals.Inaddition to interesting exhibits, your trade show stand should also present your company’s philosophy. The main focus of the concept behind the stand should be a convincing design – attractive, inviting and perfectly in tune with your objectives for the trade show.

SYSTEM STAND OR INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED STAND?As a general principle, you can present yourself at ITB China with a system stand or an individually designed stand. System stands employ low-priced, pre-fabricated parts, which are easy to transport and store; they require fewer personnel for assembly and disassembly. Modern system stands now allow a great deal of latitude towards custom design. With an individually-designed stand, you can most precisely implement your own design ideas; this makes individually-designed stands more expensive. A combination using system components and individual construction methods is popular, as it allows for a comparatively large amount of variability. Whether you opt for a system stand or an individually-designedstand:Are-usablestandisdefinitelymorecost-effective,andusuallybetterforthe environment, too.

TECHNICAL DETAILSWhen planning your trade show presence, please do not forget to check the technical details of your stand with us. We need to assure that we comply with the Technical Guidelines for stand construction and safety regulations. Please note that you need to turn in your stand construction documents to the Messe Berlin Shanghai team (Christopher Marzahn: [email protected]) latest by 10 April 17 for examination and approval.

CLEANING AND SECURITYSWEEC is pleased to give you a custom-made service offer for keeping your stand clean and secure. The cleaning companies offer reliable, professional cleaning and waste management services, both before the trade show starts as well as for the evenings when the trade show is taking place. You can also book a security guard to keep your stand and exhibition merchandise under surveillance day and night, aswellasduringtheconstructionanddisassemblytimes.Inanycase, wedefinitelyrecommendthat you insure your valuable exhibition materials. Please contact Mrs. Wendy Wu ([email protected])forspecificrequirementsregardingcleaningandsecurity.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO THINK OF WHEN TRAVELLING TO CHINA

Internet UsagePlease kindly note that Google, Gmail, Facebook and Dropbox services are not available in China. We highly recommend you to download all the information that you need from those tools before entering China. If having access to those mentioned services is essential, we suggest installing a “VPN” (virtual private network) service to your mobile or laptop.

One hurdle to overcome when travelling to China is the language barrier. The following translation apps may help you get around.

TRAVEL PREPARATIONS

We gathered all important information regarding your travel to China on our homepage, please visit: www.itb-china.com/travel-info

Flights and AirportsThere are two operating airports in Shanghai: The Shanghai Pudong International Airport and the Hongqiao Airport. It will take about 55 minutes from Hongqiao Airport to SWEECC by taxi and about 45 minutes from Pudong airport to the venue. If you choose to go there by metro, from Hongqiao Airport will take you 1 hour and from Pudong airport you will need 1 hour and half.

VISABefore business travel to China, you need to submit an invitation to apply for your visa. The invitation contains the travel date, the passport number and date of birth of the invited person, and is always signed by hand and stamped with a company stamp registered in China.
