Dear colleagues,

It is a great pleasure and honour for us to present to you the IAHR World Congress 2017 which is to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 13 to 18 August 2017. The National Hydraulic Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM), Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia and River Engineering and Urban Drainage Research Centre (REDAC) of Universiti Sains Malaysia are collaborating with International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) to organise the 37th IAHR World Congress 2017 for the first time in the ASEAN region - a tropical climate region known for its rich culture, and fast economy growth and rapid engineering and technology advancement. Thus, we would like to cordially invite you to share your recent endeavors and products with more than 1000 delegates from all over the world.

GENERAL INFORMATION

i) The CongressIAHR World Congress 2017, will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The National Hydraulics Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM), Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Malaysia and the River Engineering and Urban Drainage Research Centre (REDAC), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) are collaborating with International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) to organize the IAHR World Congress 2017.

The Congress theme “Managing Water for Sustainable Development - Learning from the Past for the Future” focuses on the central role of river and sediment management, flood management, environmental hydraulics and industrial flows, coastal, estuarine and lakes management, urban water management, water resources management, and hydroinformatics / computational methods as well as experimental methods in our changing world, and how these roles link to the broader issues. Careful management and innovative solutions are required to deal with uncertainty in the natural world, as well as the changing human world. We look forward to welcoming you to Kuala Lumpur in August 2017.

iv) Delegates ProfileThe event is expected to attract well over 1000 papers and 1200 delegates from more than 60 countries. The event includes the prestigious IAHR AGM, Young Professional Network Program and the Heritage Water Project Award which will be announced at the Congress. The Congress is expected to attract a broad range of audience ranging from academicians, practitioners, researchers, scientists, regulators, infrastructure developers and resource managers with an interest in hydro-environment.

v) Number of Delegates With plans in place to improve the content and scientific programme, additional marketing and social events will be incorporated into this five day schedule. The local organising committee is confident that the 37th IAHR World Congress in Kuala Lumpur will reach a broader audience.

APPLICATION FOR SPONSORSHIP

Application for sponsorship can be made in writing with the enclosed booking enquiry form (page 11 & page 12).

Once an application is made a contract will be sent to you for completion. This contract should be signed and returned with a 50% deposit payment to the sponsorship/exhibition office address above. Alternatively an invoice for the deposit can be requested on the booking form. Once this has been received, a confirmation of sponsorship will be mailed to you with an accompanying invoice. Closing date is on January 15, 2017.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation must be made in writing to 37th IAHR World Congress PCO Office.

The organisers shall retain:

10% of the agreed package amount if the cancellation is made before Feb 15, 2017.

50% of the agreed package amount if the cancellation is made between Feb 15, 2017 and May 15, 2017.

100% of the agreed package amount if the cancellation is made after May 15, 2017.
