Exhibition Program Information APPLICATION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 30, 2016, 5 PM FOR 2017- 2018 ARTIST’S RESPONSIBILITY Once your proposal has been accepted by the gallery you must read through the contract and return one signed copy to the gallery. Make sure you understand the content of the contract before signing as this is a legally binding agreement. You install and take down your own work according to the instructions in the Exhibitor’s Information package. Provide titles, mediums, sizes of all work in the exhibition and the year completed. Provide Business card with contact information and prices of the work are to be listed on a separate sheet. Mark NFS on works that are not for sale. Provide the gallery with required information and images for publicity purposes. Images must be high quality 300 dpi compatible with a Mac computer system and a one paragraph artist statement about the artist. All works sold from the exhibition are to be handled by the artist. The gallery/library does not handle sales. Artists return a 20% commission on sales directly resulting from the exhibition, to the gallery. Cheques are made out to Britannia Community Services Centre. Artists are responsible for their own liability insurance and Workmen’s Compensation Benefits as well as insuring their artwork.

ARTIST’S RESPONSIBILITY

• Once your proposal has been accepted by the gallery you must read through the contract and return one signed copy to the gallery. Make sure you understand the content of the contract before signing as this is a legally binding agreement.

• You install and take down your own work according to the instructions in the Exhibitor’s Information package.

• Provide titles, mediums, sizes of all work in the exhibition and the year completed.

• Provide Business card with contact information and prices of the work are to be listed on a separate sheet. Mark NFS on works that are not for sale.

• Provide the gallery with required information and images for publicity purposes. Images must be high quality 300 dpi compatible with a Mac computer system and a one paragraph artist statement about the artist.

• All works sold from the exhibition are to be handled by the artist. The gallery/library does not handle sales.

• Artists return a 20% commission on sales directly resulting from the exhibition, to the gallery. Cheques are made out to Britannia Community Services Centre.

• Provide your own shipping to/from the gallery.

• Ensure the content of the artwork meets the public health and safety standards and is appropriate to a public school environment.

• Artist(s) needing special installing supplies/equipment are responsible for providing that themselves.

• Where the exhibition has more than 2 exhibitors, the group designates a contact person with their personal contact information. This person is the liason between the gallery and the other exhibitors. The contact person provides all required information for the gallery by the deadlines described in the contract.and handles all sales inquiries, ensures installing/take down is done according to the instructions and time frame

• Exhibitors attend the exhibition opening reception.

GALLERY’S RESPONSIBILITY

• The gallery is not responsible for any lost, stolen or broken art work or the exhibitor’s equipment.

• We provide the space for exhibition with wall space, a secure display case both with track lighting.

• We provide promotional material: monthly brochure featuring the artist(s), invitations, small posters of which 30 invites and a poster are given to the artist(s). We pay for postage for 10 invites to anywhere in Canada.

• We design the promotional materials and cover the cost of printing.

• We promote exhibitions through the Gallery Preview Listings, the library online network, Britannia’s seasonal program publications, the gallery’s monthly e-newsletter “the Artery” and the gallery’s media list.

• We provide the didactic information, labels for the artwork, an artist(s) binder with the information about the exhibition and the artists.

• We provide basic installing supplies as we use an “S” hook and rail system.

• We provide the contracts, Exhibitor’s Information Package with all instructions about deadlines, installing/take down instructions.

• Where the content of an artwork is ambiguous concerning gallery/library stipulations on nudity, explicit sexuality and overt violence or public health and safety., the gallery in consultation with the library have the right to censor its inclusion in the exhibition

• Honorarium: All exhibitions in all categories regardless of how many exhibitors, receive an honorarium of $200 total. Works exhibited are also for sale unless otherwise specified by the exhibitor(s).

• The gallery provides an exhibition opening reception, catered with light snacks and is a non-alcoholic event.

1-120 volt socket for the light tracks inside. 4 lamps inside.

Ample hooks and eyelets are already in the interior root of the display case. Glass doors can be lifted out of their tracks for easy access to the interior but they are heavy. Display case has a lock on it for security. The display case can be viewed from 3 sides only.
