2005-09 C6B&B "Fusion" Exhaust System

The Fusion is a bi-modal exhaust system, meaning it has two passages that exhaust cantravel through. Each of the mufflers has two outlets, with one side having a butterfly typevalve (ECU controlled on the Z06 & 2009 C6 with NPP) which allows the exhaust flowto be shut off, regulating which side of the muffler flows exhaust. One side of themuffler is the “quiet” side, and one side is the “loud” side. The “quiet”side is a smaller, muffled chambered tube, while the “loud”side is 3" tubing straight through.

C6 02 Sensor

Heated oxygen sensors (HO2S) are used for fuel control and post catalystmonitoring. Each HO2S compares the oxygen content of the surrounding airwith the oxygen content of the exhaust stream. The HO2S must reach operatingtemperature to provide an accurate voltage signal. Heating elements inside theHO2S minimize the time required for the sensors to reachoperating temperature. Your ECM then adjusts your engineto the reading it receives from the sensors.
