PRAYER LINE REQUESTS
From the Pastor’s Desk Dear friends in Christ, This indeed has been a challenging year and for some it has been much more difficult than others. Nevertheless, we have all experienced suffering in one way or another. We heard many clichés during this pandemic, “a year like no other”, “unprecedented times”, “social distancing”, “social bubble” and so on, clichés that we are all tired of hearing. There have also been many uncertainties, to wear a mask or not, cloth mask or medical mask, open schools or keep them closed, keep churches open or closed, keep stores open or closed, gathering in numbers 10 inside or 20, 25 outside or 50 if socially distanced, and 6 feet apart or 26 feet apart and so on. We need to take a good deep breath and spend time pondering as our Mother Mary did over 2000 years ago when the Angel Gabriel visited her with the greatest request ever made. That request became the greatest certainty in history and that is the Word made Flesh and dwelt among us, Emmanuel (God with us). He is the One who took upon Himself our sufferings, our loss, our sickness and viruses of His time and knows what it is to suffer. It is Jesus, who directly feels our pain. We need to draw closer to the Light and allow the Light of Christ to break through our loneliness, isolation and the darkness. He need to allow Him to illuminate our heart and soul and fill us with His incredible joy! When we allow this Light of Christ to illuminate us, we take that Light to others whether we realize it or not. We do this by helping those in need, listening to others, comforting others and most important loving others. Let us set aside some prayer time in thanksgiving to God the Father for the greatest Christmas gift given to all of humanity……….His Son, Jesus and our Mother, Mary, for her fiat, her “Yes”. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to bestow the gifts of wisdom, counsel, fortitude, understanding, knowledge, piety and fear of the Lord in all of us. Let us allow ourselves to be Christmas gifts to others as we share the Love of Christ. As we enter this 4 week lockdown, we invite you to join us daily (except Saturdays) for our live-streamed Mass from St. Boniface Church in Zurich. Mass times can be found in this bulletin as well a link to our special Christmas video which was sent to our local nursing homes in the Family of Parishes. Thank you to Monique Hartman, Candace Becker Soudant and our Intercessory Prayer Team who created this wonderful message. May you have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year! Fr. Tony Pastor of the Lake Huron Catholic Family of Parishes

Bishop Fabbro has extended the dispensation from the Sunday obligation, including the solemnities of the Nativity of the Lord and Mary, Mother of God, until Easter. It seems unlikely that our situation with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic will change in the near future.
Bereavement Group
Grieving through the Holidays/Seasons of Hope: Lake Huron Catholic Family of Parishes is pleased to offer a 5-week (in the new year) small group for anyone grieving the death of a loved one. Please
contact [email protected] with your preferred day and time. If we can gather together safely we will, but virtual/online attendance is also encouraged. Come, Lord, be light in our darkness.
