Gain practical experience Students get direct hands-on experience in our exercise labs as well as a minimum of 140 hours of work placement.

Become an Accredited Exercise Physiologist After completing this degree, you may consider applying for the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology course to be qualified as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

Gain professional recognition Deakin’s Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science is the first and longest-standing nationally accredited undergraduate exercise and sports science program in Victoria. This accreditation has been awarded by Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) in 2009 and was renewed in 2014.

Engage in practical learning With hands-on experience throughout the course, graduates hit the ground running. You could benefit from work experience placements in a variety of environments, such as AFL and NRL football clubs, the Australian Weightlifting Federation, Surf Life Saving Australia, the Victorian Institute of Sport, Bicycle Victoria, and many more.

Add variety to your degree The course comprises 24 credit points which includes 14 core units and 10 elective units. You can select elective units to form a major sequence. Majors can be selected from within the Faculty of Health or any other Faculty (subject to availability and pre-requisites).
