What does the PRoGRaMMe coveR? The programme is designed to meet the need to increase the supply of well-qualified risk management professionals in Ireland. It covers a broad technical curriculum encompassing the conceptual and quantitative foundations of risk management, and engenders in students a critical understanding of the challenges facing senior management.

By combining the multitude of individual risks into a unified enterprise-wide perspective, the programme will enable students to think strategically to exploit, or minimise, risks in accordance with the firm’s competitive advantages and risk appetite. It therefore aims to develop risk professionals with a holistic perspective of the wider implications of risk and risk management.

Successful completion of this programme leads to an MSc in Risk Management from University College Dublin.

accRedited by PRMiaThe MSc in Risk Management is accredited by the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA). Its Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designation provides a global standard for the world’s top financial risk professionals. This means that students taking the MSc in Risk Management will have completed modules closely aligned with the PRM exam syllabus, hence they will receive exemptions from PRM Exams I and II, which form the majority of the PRM Certification Programme.

Who Would benefit Most fRoM it?The programme is designed to develop individuals working in or advising in banks and financial institutions, who are actively involved in risk-management or related areas (e.g. compliance). It is also suitable for those who would like to develop a career in risk-management.

I found the programme very challenging but extremely rewarding. There was good variety in the work programme with practical application and I use the skills and knowledge acquired on a daily basis. The programme is well recognised in the industry and I developed a good network of risk managers that I regularly keep in contact with.
