The XDP is currently being deployed by all members o the NYSE Euronext group and is the

standard market data distribution component in NYSE Euronext’s next-generation Universal

Trading Platorm (UTP) or all NYSE Euronext markets (cash and derivatives or both Europe

and the US).

Data acquisition, the ability to enrich or add value and distribution are the key concepts

that underpin the XDP.

These concepts are realised in the exible and modular design o the XDP with our main

components: the Data Handlers, the Market Data Server (MDS), the RetransmissionServer (RTS), and the Reresh Server (RFS). In the diagram below, the confguration or

the NYSE Euronext implementation is demonstrated.

• TheDataHandlersacquirethedatafromthemarketdatasource(s)andnormaliseit,

transmitting it to the MDS over the ultra low latency Data Fabric middleware.

• TheMDSisthekeydatadeliverycomponent,itallowsfortheeasycreationand

distribution o dierent market data product sets over dedicated multicast channels.

• TheRTSprovidesaretransmissionfacilitytoserviceclientswhomayhave

experienced gaps in the real-time market eed. It caches the state and depth o the

market and is able to send a retransmission o specifc data on request.

• TheRTSprovidesarefresh(orsnapshot)ofthecurrentmarketstate.Again,caching

the state and depth o the market, it is able to send these rereshes on request.
