Apprenticeship Programme

• Recruit apprentices annually, this year 170 • 390 craft apprentices employed by City

Building• 9 Lone parents Carpentry and Joinery

Programme• Pre- apprenticeship programmes• Vocational training for Schools

Ready to Learn Programme

• City Building was approached by the partners to deliver the ‘Hands-On’ training.

• The aspirations of the participants was to gain an apprenticeship in construction.

• This training built on the work already completed and allowing the participants to build confidence.

The Training Programme

• Training on a number of trades.• Emphasis placed hand skills • Product knowledge and health and safety

were taught in the classroom.• All passed the health and safety training-

CSCS • On-site training with tradesperson.

Out come Programme

• Group developed their own identity - “The Rangers Group”.

• Two people left the programme, due to reoffending, during this phase.

• Only one person failed to get employment.• Four obtained an apprenticeship with City

Building.
