Each exam must be taken on the day and at the time shown on the timetable. The published starting time of all exams is either 9.00am or 1.30pm. Candidates taking more than one exam in a session should take these consecutively. A supervised break may be given between the exams taken consecutively at the discretion of the centre. 2. Centres may start an exam up to 30 minutes before the published starting time without notifying AQA. 3. Centres may delay the starting time of an exam within the scheduled session without notifying AQA but candidates must be supervised from 9.30am for morning exams or 2.00pm for afternoon exams. 4. For information on any other timetable variations, please refer to the JCQ Instructions for conducting examinations or contact AQA Exams Office Support. 5. Candidates must remain under supervision until 10.00am for morning exams and 2.30pm for afternoon exams. Examination Timetable May/June 2010

General Certificate of Education Free-Standing Mathematics Qualifications

General Notes

1. Starting times of exams. Each exam must be taken on the day and at the time shown on the timetable. The published starting time of all exams is either 9.00am or 1.30pm. Candidates taking more than one exam in a session should take these consecutively. A supervised break may be given between the exams taken consecutively at the discretion of the centre.

2. Centres may start an exam up to 30 minutes before the published starting time without notifying AQA.

3. Centres may delay the starting time of an exam within the scheduled session without notifying AQA but candidates must be supervised from 9.30am for morning exams or 2.00pm for afternoon exams.

Subject/Qualification Notes

11. Carrying forward marks for centre-assessed components. Candidates entering for the May/June 2010 exams may carry forward centre-assessed component marks following the instructions enclosed with the May/June 2010 entry material. Please note that coursework marks for outgoing GCE specifications cannot be carried forward to the new GCE specifications

12. Art and Design specifications. 13. GCE Applied ICT. AQA set assignments must be conducted between 15 March 2010 and 5 June 2010. Candidates’ work must be posted to the examiner on or before 5 June 2010.

14. GCE Applied Art and Design. The externally set briefs (Unit 3, Unit 5 and Unit 9) will be despatched to centres in January 2010 on the basis of estimated entries. The externally set briefs (Unit 3, Unit 5 and Unit 9) must be completed by 31 May 2010. Candidates’ marks for the externally set briefs (Unit 3, Unit 5 and Unit 9) must be submitted to AQA by 31 May 2010. Marks for all GCE Applied Art and Design centre-assessed units must be submitted to AQA by 31 May 2010.

15. GCE Music. The externally set briefs for MUSC2 and MUSC5 will be despatched in October 2009 on the basis of estimated entries. Candidates’ work for these units must be completed in up to 20 hours of controlled time between 1 November 2009 and 15 May 2010 and must be posted to the examiner on or before 15 May 2010. MUSC3 and MUSC6 may be conducted at any time during the course. The centre-assessed marks for MUSC3 must be submitted to us by 15 May 2010 and for MUSC6 candidates’ work must be submitted to the examiner by 15 May 2010.

16. GCE externally assessed assignments. The externally assessed assignments for GCE Leisure Studies and GCE Travel and Tourism must be conducted between 10 May 2010 and 21 May 2010. Preparatory folders should be collected by 7 May 2010.

17. Dance. DANC2 and DANC4 must be conducted between 15 February 2010 and 21 May 2010. Question papers and related materials will be despatched to centres in October 2009 on the basis of estimated entries.

18. General Studies, Specification A, GENA4. Case Study Source Material for GENA4 may be issued to candidates on or after 1 April 2010.

19. Modern Foreign Languages. Unit 2 and Unit 4 teacher-conducted orals in these subjects must be conducted between 7 March 2010 and 15 May 2010. Unit 2 and Unit 4 visiting-examiner orals in these subjects will be conducted between 7 March 2010 and 15 May 2010.

20. GCE Mathematics MPC1: Calculators are not permitted in this exam.

21. GCE Critical Thinking. Case Study source material for CRIT4 may be issued to candidates on or after 1 April 2010.

22. Use of Mathematics. Data sheets for UOM4/1 should be issued to candidates between 13 May 2010 and 20 May 2010.

23. Free standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data Sheets should be issued to candidates between 4 May 2010 and 11 May 2010.

24. Free standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data Sheets should be issued to candidates between 12 May 2010 and 19 May 2010.

25. Free standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data Sheets should be issued to candidates between 11 May 2010 and 18 May 2010.

26. Free standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data Sheets should be issued to candidates between 7 May 2010 and 14 May 2010.

27. The date for publication of provisional results for GCE and FSMQ exams in June 2010 is Thursday 19 August 2010.
