Erik Johnson On first look, anyone could have just thought that this was a photograph of this fence/net with rusted objects aCached to it. though in fact it's a landscape photograph because of the background behind the fence because the photograph isn't focused on the fence and objects, everything in frame is in focus. 'UnGtled' is a photograph in a series of photographs which is Gtled 'Borderlands' that Erik did during 2004. In this series, Erik went out to a local sea shore and took photographs of what he came across from rocks that have been revealed when the Gde is out to the surrounding landscape. Although this photograph on it's own isn't very important in itself I believe however that the series of 'Borderlands' is very important because it provides the viewer what Erik saw in the surrounding environment from rock formaGons to just random waste leM in various places. Normally people would just take photographs of the environment and would over look your typical liCer that is leM around.
EvaluaGon on first set of photo's: My intenGons on the first set of photographs was to explore different aspects of the environment and different objects that are around in the surrounding environment whether it be buildings or wreckage. These photos are ok but I think I could have picked more interesGng scenery because it looks a bit bland really. I think in my personal opinion on the photos that I have taken, I think they are ok but I think I could have taken photos of more debris that is sGll been leM there to have shown the age of the place that I went to then I think the photos would have been beCer in my opinion. In conclusion I think I have got my starGng point with the exam quesGon, but I think I am going to take it further and develop it more and add something into the photos to keep to the brief of 'Encounters, experiences and meeGngs'
Thierry Le Goues ‘Glamazone’ On first glance the picture is quiet eye catching because it shows a woman who is bigger than the telephone poles. The way that arGst has done this is to give a sense of scale compared to foreground and background objects. The way that this picture has been done is by adding the two photographs together on photoshop then then making the figure seem there by erasing or masking into the image to make it appear there. ‘UnGtled’ is part of a series of unknown photographs taken by Thierry Le Goues. Although this photograph alone isn’t important I think that the series of photographs that it’s part of is important because I like the way it gives a sense of scale to the photographs. In normal life people would have to have there subject in the background and stand correctly on a object that you have in focus to give a sense of scale, where as you can take two photos and then add them in photoshop and scale them to how you want them to be.
