Only the very best preparation of the breeding pigeons before coupling and proper care during the breeding sea-son are able to guarantee vital young pigeons. Feeding a well-balanced diet is one of the main elements to guaran-tee good breeding results. We advise to feed Finesse Start from ten days before coupling. From that moment onwards we advise to feed the breeders at least two days per week 5 ml of Naturamine per litre of drinking water. If the breed-ing pigeons are taken care of in this way it will result in the laying of their eggs without problems and they will have the opportunity to pass on good characteristics to their young. It is important during the breeding period to feed Natural Vitamineral, Grit and Picking Stone every day.If the cock is chasing the hen and the breeding couples are rearing the youngsters, mix Natural Garlic Oil (enriched with vitamin E) with the Finesse Start and dry the mix with Vitaminor Brewer’s Yeast. Elements which play an important part in the feeding of pigeons during the racing season:

A. SWIFT RECOVERY To obtain swift recovery after the race the widowers are first fed one meal of Finesse Condition + 4 g Nutripower per pigeon. Nurtripow-er contains easily digestible proteins, amino acids, lipids and carbohy-drates. First mix 20 g of Natural Electrolit and then 5 ml of Naturamine per litre of drinking water to guarantee swift recovery of the pigeons and keep their muscles in top condition.Only ideally functioning muscles can be loaded with energy.

B. HOW TO LOAD THE MUSCLES WITH ENERGYInstructions for use: see feeding schedule in combination with the flight distances. This easily digestible racing mixture provides all the energy that is required via three different kinds of top quality maize (French cribs, Bordeaux and popcorn) as well as small seeds.The ideal balance between grains and seeds in the Finesse mixtures guarantees a high intake as long as it is fed until the very last race.Moisten the feed with Natural Garlic Oil during the second half of the week. This product contains vitamin E, soy oil and lecithin, which accelerates the conversion of the fat-containing ingredients of this mixture into maximum energy. The mix that is moistened with the garlic oil must be left to dry with Vitaminor brewer’s yeast. Thanks to Vitaminor, which contains vitamins B and high quality trace elements, you improve the condition of the pigeons.Finesse Energy Plus is an energy-rich mixture containing 17.5 % fats which allow you to “top up” the pigeon’s body with extra energy (2889 Kcal).

C. HEALTHY PIGEONSHealthy pigeons perform better. Nobody will challenge that. To keep pigeons healthy does not mean that they must be excessively subject-ed to different cures. Pigeons that are given too much medicines won’t last long.

Try to maintain a high level of resistance of the pigeons in a “natural” way by providing them with the most simple “feed supplements”. Naturaline, Naturamine, Vitaminor and Naturavit Plus are the best examples for this.

Pigeons have a fat metabolism. This means that the pigeons draw their energy mainly from fats. Fat is the main basic fuel for the pigeon’s metabolism and is the most important energy source for the pigeon’s breast mus-cles. The right fatty acids also play an important part in the building of their overall condition and resistance. But beware: proper reserves of carbohydrates should not be underestimated. This type of energy can be released very quickly by the pigeon’s organism when a sudden and short ‘energy boost’ is necessary e.g. during short but intense efforts during take-off after having been released, while climbing, landing, avoiding obstacles and when accelerat-ing.Why does the Finesse Energy Plus contain so much safflower seed? Safflower seed is rich in easily digesti-ble and high quality proteins, while containing a lot of oil (= rich in fat), a lot of phosphorus and a rather large quantity of vitamins. Why safflower seed rather than sunflower seeds? Both are comparable. However, the kernel or heart of safflower seed is always nicely filled with a thin hull or shell and in sunflower seeds we regularly find a small kernel or heart and a thick hull or shell. This is the reason why in this mixture safflower seed is preferred to sunflower seeds.

The moulting season is a difficult one for the pigeon. After the continuous efforts during the racing season the pigeon’s body is in need of rest and this is precisely the period during which they have to replace all their feathers. As a result of this they require a large number of essential amino acids to guarantee a proper, new coat of feathers. Feathers mainly contain mineralised proteins such as keratin which is rich in sulphur. This is why we must feed the pigeons all the neces-sary nutrients to meet these requirements. It is important to know that the so-called “cheap” mixtures generally have an unbalanced composition and do not contain enough amino acids such as methionine and cysteine. The percentage of small seeds, sunflower seeds and cards provide these vital amino acids in adequate proportions. To help you obtain a silky smooth coat of feathers we advise the following Natural complementary products:• Naturamine: a tonic containing minerals, trace elements
