5G Requirements• Data traffic: 10,000 times more traffic will need to be carried through all mobile broadband technologies at some point between 2020 and 2030
• Capacity: growth between ten and a hundred devices for each mobile communications user
• Lower latency (<1ms): to achieve higher data rates; faster procedure response times; to approach new use cases
• Battery life: Part of this lifetime extension will come from the evolution of battery technology but part will come from efficient handling of machine type traffic in the 5G system.
• Capability of handling different types of devices: 5G will need to be flexible enough to handle efficiently IoT devices that only send small, rare bursts of data, as well as advanced devices requiring to exchange large amount of data
• Peak data rates: higher than 10 Gbit/s, and more important the cell-edge data rate (for 95% of users) should be 100Mbit/s

Telit Completes Successful First Live 5G Tests of New Industrial-Grade 5G M.2 Data Card
• Conducted on a live 5G network in Korea, the tests highlight Telit'sleadership in providing businesses and other organizations with 5G solutions for industrial routers and gateways, fixed wireless access, video broadcasting, private LTE/5G networks and more.
• The successful network tests were on a Tier 1 operator's live 5G network in Korea at sub-6 GHz frequencies. A second set of successful tests were conducted in millimeter wave spectrum using test equipment.
• Samples are currently shipping, with commercial shipments following in Q1 2020.

FCC finds 5G poses no new risk – Source: Mobile World Live – August 9, 2019
Does 5G pose health risks?
• US officials set public concerns about the health impacts of 5G aside, concluding there is nothing about the technology or the bands it operates in which would require new limits on radio frequency (RF) exposure.
• On a call with journalists, senior FCC officials noted the US’ current RF standards for handheld devices in particular, are among the strictest in the world. They added a review of scientific evidence conducted by the Food and Drug Administration’s Centre for Devices and Radiological Health found no adverse health effects in humans caused by RF exposure at or under the current limits.
