Flying Geese Units This quilt has a lot of flying geese units - 20 in each of the nine blocks!
See the ‘Flying Geese Color Guide’ to determine which color of fabric to use in each part of the geese.
Follow this method to create your flying geese units:
x Lay a 1.5” x 2.5” rectangle right side up.
x Lay a 1.5” x 1.5” square right side down on the right side of the rectangle. Draw a diagonal line across the square as
shown, and sew directly on that line.
x Trim off the outer corner .25” past your sewing.
x Press your seam toward the upper right corner.
x Lay a 1.5” x 1.5” square right side down on the left side of the same rectangle. Draw a diagonal line across the square, and sew directly on that line.
x Trim off the outer corner .25” past your sewing. Press toward the upper left corner.
You now have a 1.5” x 2.5” flying geese unit.

Rail Fence Units Since these units break down into really small pieces of fabric, we’re going to use the strip piecing method.
Sew the 2 strips of 1” Pea in a Pod to the 1.5” strip of Atlantica. Press both seams toward the Pea and a Pod.
Now subcut this strata into 2.5” x 2.5” units.
You will need 10 units of Atlantica/Pea in a Pod for the A Blocks.
Repeat the strip piecing using Atlantica as the 1.5” center strip and Tiffany Box as the 1” outer strips. Make 10 units for the A blocks.
Repeat the strip piecing using Tiffany Box as the 1.5” center strip and Atlantica as the 1” outer strips. Make 8 units for the B blocks.
Repeat the strip piecing using Tiffany Box as the 1.5” center strip and Pea in a Pod as the 1” outer strips Make 8 units for the B blocks.
Build the Blocks Refer to Block A Diagram and Block B Diagram for color reference as you piece.
Lay out all your geese and rail fence units. Add in the 2.5” center squares and 1.5” corner squares. Start by assembling the pieces into 9 larger units.
Then sew the units into three rows. Press in the direction of the arrows.
Finally sew the three rows together. Press in the direction of the arrows.
Make all 9 of your blocks this way: you will have 5 of Block A and 4 of Block B.

Stitch the rows together, and press toward the outside rows.
With that your ‘Every Which Way’ quilt top is complete!
