  • The Tim and Bob Show has been performing at venues in the San Antonio and South Texas areas since August 2005. An acoustic guitar-based vocal cover band that specializes in music of the 1960s and 1970s, the band also features songs that originated as far back as the 1920s and from sources as diverse as Broadway musicals and the band Greenday. Guitarists Steve Feinstein and Don Hymel are the backbone of The Tim and Bob Show. One or both of them takes part in each song the band performs. Steve’s tenor and Don’s baritone mix very well. Each of them sings lead vocals as well as providing tight harmony. Singer/ percussionists Kathy Feinstein and Mary Lou Hymel contribute to the band’s overall sound, and make possible their signature tight four-part harmonies. Kathy’s soprano and Mary Lou’s alto vocals ensure the group’s broad variety of appeal.

Steve and Don are also songwriters, and the band regularly performs over 20 tunes one or both has written. Twelve of these Feinstein-Hymel compositions are included in their 2008 CD Take it Outside. This popular recording has sold consistently and features the band’s entire lineup in a variety of styles and genres.

The band has a large fan base that follows them to the venues where they perform. These “members of Tim and Bob Nation” are kept well informed of all upcoming gigs, and their fans respond by turning out in numbers to hear the band play. The band’s regular venues are very appreciative of how the band promotes them. The band is also popular with these venues because of their good-natured relationship with the audience. In the past the band has even provided coloring books and crayons for small children at family friendly venues.

The Tim and Bob Show participates in fund raising events, such as their continued support of Pet Pals of Texas, and also takes the time to perform without compensation at events that promote the community. The Houston Street Fair and The Taste of San Antonio are examples of the latter.

“The Tim and Bob Show, a quartet with no one named Tim or Bob, plays baby boomer favorites that are given close-harmony folk and folk/rock treatments. “

    -Jim Beal, San Antonio Express-News

It was indeed a great show which The Tim and Bob Show performed last week during our first Bluebonnets, Burgers, and Bordeaux event. The songs and performance were remembrances from the past and set the mood for our best attended event. One of the most memorable was when we got everyone to dance to Kathy’s rendition of Crazy. It is “terrible” when the host of the event can say I had as much fun as the guests listening to your great performance. No wonder you were voted the Best Cover Band in San Antonio... Again, Thanks for a job well done. We look forward to doing it again -Gill L. Bledsoe, Owner, Pillar Bluff Vineyards
