We need your help to spread the word It’s only because of our amazing supporters that we can offer our services free of charge to Sheffield people. We need your help to spread the word about our brilliant events. Why not pin this planner up in the staff room at your workplace?

Jaygo’s storyMy advice to anyone thinking of supporting this amazing charity would be to visit St Luke’s, to get an understanding of what it’s about and see for yourself the difference that you can make. When it’s a terminal illness you’re facing, you look for a comfort blanket, and St Luke’s is just that, but it’s also about enjoying the life you have as much as possible. Then just get out there and do it! Take that leap of faith and start fundraising, because every penny you raise for St Luke’s will make a difference to someone’s life.”

When trainee solicitor Jaygo Norris visited St Luke’s, he was reminded of the care his grandmother received when she was diagnosed with cancer and was inspired to help make a difference to the lives of others.

“I was introduced to St Luke’s through my employers, Irwin Mitchell, who support the charity’s annual Will Month campaign. When I was shown around, I was reminded of the care my grandmother received from her local hospice. St Luke’s was providing the same service, free of charge to people at one of the most difficult times of their lives. This is what inspired me to sign up for the Paris Marathon and raise money for their care.

The run was one of the hardest things I have ever done - it was a tough route and I went there alone, not knowing the city at all, so I was very nervous. But because I was doing it for such a great cause, I enjoyed the challenge and in the end raised more than £1,500! If I ever do any fundraising challenges in the future it will definitely be for St Luke’s because I really did feel like I had made a difference.
