INTRODUCTION
Events at BALTICBALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art is located on
the south banks of the River Tyne in the North East of England. The
striking former flour mill in Gateshead now exhibits work by some
of the worlds leading contemporary artists and is one of the
regions most recognisable landmarks.
BALTIC is an extremely versatile venue, hosting everything from
car launches, fashion shows, TV broadcasts and conferences to
training workshops, academic seminars, high profile business
dinners and networking evenings. Private parties are equally well
catered for, with fantastic spaces for birthday celebrations,
weddings and ceremonies of all sizes.
BALTIC offers excellent restaurant and caf facilities to event
guests with the acclaimed Six and BALTIC Kitchen, operated by Fresh
Element and also available for private hire.

River Terrace is our most versatile event space. Its exclusive
outdoor balcony, fully licensed bar and bespoke AV equipment make
it ideal for both conferencing and social events. The views across
the city by day and by night are spectacular, making River Terrace
a unique location.

ambience perfectly suited to informal events. BALTIC Kitchens
private outdoor patio area overlooks Baltic Square and is perfect
for summer barbecues.
BALTIC Kitchen is available to hire from 19:00, operating as a
public caf by day.
A 10% discount on food and drink is available to all event
guests who wish to visit BALTIC Kitchen during the daytime.

Located in BALTICs Level 5 Viewing Box, directly beneath the
restaurant, the private dining room is available exclusively for
you and your guests for the duration of the evening. The rooms
floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the stunning panorama of the
quayside and Newcastle cityscape.
Six is the elegant rooftop restaurant located on the top floor
of BALTIC, offering stunning panoramic views across the Newcastle
skyline. Opened in 2009, the style of food is British modern,
featuring the very best locally sourced ingredients simply cooked
and served in a relaxed and friendly setting.
Six is available for private hire and comfortably accommodates
breakfast meetings, large dinners and intimate private dining.
On Saturdays, Six is exclusively available for private hire for
weddings.

Large PartiesIf your guest numbers are between 26 and 40, Six

BALTICs main conferencing and meeting space occupies an entire
gallery floor and is available exclusively for private hire.
Level 1 comprises a large event space, small cinema, two
breakout rooms, dressing room, lobby and orientation space. With
clean white walls, soft wood floors and an in-house AV studio,
Level 1 is a blank canvas ready to be transformed into your bespoke
event. This flexible space is suitable for many events including
conferences, product launches, private parties, TV studio
broadcasts and award ceremonies.
AccessibilityLevel 1 is accessible via an arts service lift
which can be used to transport all large items required for your
event including vehicles, full production sets and equipment.
LightingFull conference lighting is required for Level 1 as
there is no natural light in the room. All the necessary equipment
is available to hire.
Audio Visual EquipmentLevel 1 is fully equipped technically with
audio, video and specialist lighting rig. You are welcome to
provide your own equipment and set but it is a requirement that
BALTICs Technician be onsite for installation, event duration and
de-rig.
The Orientation Space, Cinema and Meeting Rooms can be hired
independently of the main Level 1 Event Floor.

atrium, which by day is flooded with natural light. The white walls
and soft wooden floors create a stylish space for informal
receptions.

CinemaOur very own 54-seat cinema is perfect for seminars, panel
discussion and presentations. Why not invite your friends to watch
your favourite film and enjoy some drinks and snacks for your own

hire of the cinema is the projector and screen, media player and
the Orientation Space.

Meeting RoomsBALTIC offers two unique and flexible spaces for
meetings, interviews and professional training sessions. Projectors
and laptops available to hire and the clean white walls can be
projected onto. Our modern rooms are north and west facing, with

River Tyne and landmarks such as the Gateshead Millennium Bridge,

BALTIC. Parking permits can be pre-booked (subject to

TrainBALTIC is a 20 minute walk or 10 minute taxi from Newcastle
train station. Newcastle is approximately 3 hours from London and
1.5 hours from Edinburgh by train.
