Capital Crescent Trail (3600 Water St)This 11-mile-long, off-road trail from George-town to Silver Spring, MD, is a favorite among walkers, joggers, and bikers.

HISTORY & EDUCATIONCity Tavern Club (3206 M St)The City Tavern Club is a one of the oldest Federal period tavern buildings in Washington, DC. This private social club boasts a diverse membership that provides space for fine dining, private events, and entertaining.

Dumbarton House (2715 Q St)The Dumbarton House is a Federal period historic house museum featuring a significant, extensive collection of Federal-era decorative arts, paintings and furniture.

Georgetown Branch Library & Peabody Room (3260 R St)The Georgetown Branch Library is a DC Public Library located in Book Hill. The Peabody Room houses historical and current materials related to the history, culture and economy of Georgetown.

Georgetown University (3700 O St)Georgetown University is the oldest Catholic University in the United States, featuring beauti-ful landscaping and historic buildings, and world renowned educational programs in medicine, law, foreign service, business, languages and the liberal arts.

Georgetown University Library (37th + N Sts)Lauinger Library is the main library for George-town University, and houses materials in the humanities, social sciences and business, as well as U.S. federal government documents and the Booth Family Center for Special Collections, which includes archives, rare books, manuscripts and rare prints.

Mount Zion Cemetery (2501 Mill Rd)Mount Zion Cemetery provided Georgetown’s servants and slaves with a resting place, and also served as a station along the Underground Railroad System.

Oak Hill Cemetery (3001 R St)The beautiful 19th century cemetery has a rich history from the Civil War period.

The Old Stone House (3051 M St)The Old Stone House is the oldest building in DC, commemorating the daily lives of Georgetown’s early residents and serving as a great example of Revolutionary War-era architecture.

Tudor Place (1644 31st St)Tudor Place is one of America’s best preserved neoclassical estates, built in Georgetown in 1816 by Martha Washington’s granddaughter and lived in by five generations that followed.

The BID’s signature annual events—including Georgetown GLOW, Georgetown French Market, Taste of Georgetown, Sunset Fitness, and Sunset Cinema—offer a fun and unique way to experience the very best in local food, fashion, arts, entertain-ment and recreation. TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING

Ride the CirculatorThe red DC Circulator bus links cultural, entertain-ment, and business destinations within the city, and two lines come to Georgetown. The Dupont-Rosslyn line makes stops along M Street and crosses Key Bridge. The Union Station-Georgetown line makes stops on K Street (westbound), Wisconsin Avenue, and M Street (eastbound).

MetrobusA number of Metrobus lines service the Georgetown area. The 30s connect Georgetown with Downtown DC, the National Mall, and Capitol Hill going east-bound, and Glover Park, Tenleytown, and Friendship Heights westbound. The D buses travel to Glover Park, the Palisades, and Downtown DC. The G2 connects Georgetown University with LeDroit Park/Shaw via Dupont Circle. BikingCapital Bikeshare is the DC area’s user-friendly bicycle transit service. With more than 350 stations, including eight in Georgetown, it’s a great option for exploring the area on two wheels. Take a single 30-minute ride for only $2 or sign up for a member-ship (starting at $8 for 24 hours) and each ride is free for the first 30 minutes. Have your own bike? Park it at one of nearly 50 public bike racks located throughout the commercial district. A bike fixit repair station is also available for a quick tune-up. Visit www.georgetowndc.com for more, include a bike parking map.

Take the MetroThe Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro stop is a short 15-minute walk to/from Georgetown. Take the blue/orange/silver line to the Foggy Bottom-GWU sta-tion and walk five short blocks along Washington Circle and Pennsylvania Avenue to reach M Street in Georgetown, or take K Street to access the Washing-ton Harbour and Georgetown Waterfront. The Ross-lyn, VA, Metro stop is also a short 15-minute walk over the Key Bridge to the west end of M Street and Georgetown University.
