Overview of the HIMSS Innovation Center The HIMSS Innovation Center at the Global Center for Health Innovation in Cleveland, Ohio offers a year round opportunity for organizations and individuals to host events, meetings, and demonstrations in a new, modern facility. The HIMSS Innovation Center offers meeting rooms complete with the latest Audio-Visual equipment including a centralized Content Management System to manage presentations, content, video and other meeting essentials. The HIMSS Innovation Center is located on the 4th floor of the Global Center offering attendees state of the art meeting facilities, an opportunity to view innovative health IT products and services in a large Technology Showcase, and integrated technical demonstrations where multiple health IT systems show through in the HIMSS Simulation Center how they work together to improve health and healthcare. The HIMSS Innovation Center is located in the heart of downtown Cleveland and within easy walking distance to Cleveland’s most popular hotels, entertainment, restaurants, major league sporting events, and one of the nation’s premier theatre districts. Catering is provided by Levy Restaurants which operates in the building and also services the Cleveland Convention Center. Levy offers a large array of fabulous food for discerning tastes. Truly, this environment offers unique opportunities to hold events and meetings.

Welcome Center
The Welcome Center of the HIMSS Innovation Center features a breathtaking view of Lake Erie, a warm reception area, and stately 80” monitors which are interactive and controlled by touch screens. The first station is the HIMSS Innovation Center Wayfinder, which highlights the value proposition of each of the Innovation Center Collaborators’ products and services in video format. The second station for attendees is an interactive version of the HIMSS Value Suite. The HIMSS Health IT Value Suite is a robust library of value-focused, evidence-based use cases framed by HIMSS’ multifaceted Health IT Value Suite™. This enables to the ability to organize the information and create a common vocabulary to identify, classify and discuss the many known examples of health IT value.
Welcome Theater
The Welcome Theater introduces HIMSS and helps attendees understand how the HIMSS Innovation Center partners with health delivery organizations, technology solution providers and government agencies to help solve real-world healthcare problems; with the goal of improving the quality and efficiency of health and healthcare for patients and communities.
Simulation Center
The HIMSS Simulation Center is the worldwide hub of interoperability. Producing demonstrations of interoperability use cases in order to help healthcare providers, policy makers, and the health IT community understand the value of using standards based transactions to ensure the right information is available to the right person at the right time. HIMSS leverages interoperability test tools from Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and other innovation centers to ensure that both new and existing innovations will have access to the latest in standards harmonization and regulatory conformance testing tools.
HIMSS Technology Showcase
The HIMSS Technology Showcase is a mecca of healthcare technologies featuring clinical information systems, hardware, and infrastructure components of health IT. This area showcases interactive demonstrations where attendees can learn about the innovative offerings of HIMSS Collaborators. The space connects technology innovations with healthcare providers in spaces designed to enhance discussion and extend education.
HIMSS Meeting Space
Boasting an amazing view of the Lake Erie shoreline and downtown Cleveland, the HIMSS conference center will provide space for up to 100 attendees for education, meetings or testing events. The state of the art meeting space can be used as one big room or divided into three smaller conference rooms. This space can be used in conjunction with tours of the HIMSS Innovation Center for healthcare provider meetings, vendor user groups, receptions, and conferences.
Types of Events The HIMSS Innovation Center lends itself to many different options for various types of
events. Events that you may consider hosting at the HIMSS Innovation Center include,
but are not limited to: Board meetings, retreats, educational conferences, networking
receptions, testing events, and tours.
Note that the attendees can also schedule a tour of the entire Global Center for Health
Innovation which features medical products and services from healthcare vendors.

Who Can Hold an Event? Anyone. Depending on your organization and status, there may be very nominal fees.
Below is a simple table which helps explain the pricing structure. Note that currently the
facility has a 2-day maximum for a specific event or meeting.

Catering Catering is provided by the Levy Restaurants organization which is located in the Global Center for Health Innovation/Cleveland Convention Center. They offer a full line of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Note that catering fees are not covered by the HIMSS Innovation Center. All catered food and beverage requests for your event must be coordinated through the Levy’s catering representative. Please remember that with this exclusive agreement, no outside food or beverage may be brought in by your attendees, exhibitors or staff members. Levy’s catering representative, in conjunction with the Event Coordinator, will plan and administer all the necessary elements in making your event a success. They will be able to assist you with a variety of food and beverage options, including menu selection, pricing and presentation, all tailored toward meeting the expectations of your event. Levy Restaurants donates all surplus prepared food to organizations that help those in need. Audio-Visual Services and Content Management System There is a large video wall with 9 monitors which can display user-provided content. Additionally, there are numerous other large LCD monitors throughout the 20,000 square foot area which can also be programmed. There are also three 80” LCD touch-screens.
The HIMSS Innovation Center offers flexible audio-visual capabilities. Each monitor
and projector also has a networked computer. Hence, each display can be
programmatically controlled to display any type of digital content such as Microsoft
PowerPoints, videos, JPEG images and other digital files. The Conference Center

Meeting Room Layout Options The HIMSS Innovation Center meeting room offers many variations for room layout
which are based on the user’s preference, number of people, audio-visual requirements
and other considerations. The Conference Center can be arranged in the four different

General Information Once the space has been agreed upon along with dates and time, a “Space Agreement” contract will be issued. This will hold the space on the dates and times. If reserving the space for more than one day, a room refresh is included (straighten seating, empty trash cans, light sweeping, clear trash from tables). If a registration area is required, the Welcome Area front desk can be used and includes the use of a computer connected to the Internet. The HIMSS Innovation Center is a smoke free campus. In accordance, smoking is prohibited within 50 feet of any entrance door to the adjacent Global Center for Health Innovation. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. Base Space Agreement Does Not Include: - Labor charges for building engineers, exhibit labor, security, and special
housekeeping requests. - Attendants, set-up, box office staff, coat check attendants, police officers, nurse,
and fire personnel fee - Marshal and other event personnel needed to stage event fees - Utilities – Additional electrical and telecommunication service fees beyond the
base - Significant meeting room changeovers requested, as determined and agreed
upon by HIMSS Innovation Center personnel - Parking (private owned parking is available nearby at prevailing rates).
