WelcomeHello and welcome to the pack for the Warhammer 40,000 Battle Brothers events being held at Warhammer World. Battle Brothers events are all about having a great time with your closest ally, meeting new people and having fun. You and your ally will fight as an intrepid duo, whose fates are interwoven. If you are to achieve glory and honour, you must stand together as one. Fighting over the war-torn planets of the 41st Millennium, your mission is to stand against the foul denizens sent against you by other teams.

Battle Brothers is all about indulging in your hobby, as well as meeting new groups of friends. Expect rivalries with other teams, banter and lots of fun while you duke it out with one another.

So what is Battle Brothers? Battle Brothers is a gaming event, where you and a partner form a team of two to battle it out against other similar teams. The spirit of this event is entirely social and the challenge of playing as a team of two ensures that you will have lots of memorable war stories. Battle Brothers also offers you the opportunity to showcase your army to other hobbyists, play against some of the best painted and converted armies in the world, share your ideas and get inspired for new hobby projects. Grab your collection of miniatures and head to Warhammer World for a hobby experience like no other.

One ticket covers entrance to the event for both players on a team. Once purchased, we will send you an email with your ticket contained within. You will need a copy of this email (printed out or displayed on a phone or tablet) when your team arrives at Warhammer World.

Your TeamBattle Brothers sees you fight as part of a team of two, fighting alongside each other throughout the event. Don’t forget to come up with a suitable (and family friendly) team name to use throughout the weekend!

Your Army For a Battle Brothers event, you’ll need to bring along an army of miniatures picked with your partner to a specific points value from a current publication produced by Games Workshop. (For a full list of the armies in use at Battle Brothers events, please see The Warrior’s Code, mentioned later.

Each team will need to bring a 1,500 point army chosen between two people using the rules from the “Selecting Your Army” section of the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook.

Example 1: Paul and Matt are going to Battle Brothers and between them they need to fill a single 1,500 point army. Paul spends 800 points on a primary detachment of Space Marines and Richard spends 600 points on Eldar as an allied detachment following the rules in the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook. Between them they then spend 100 points on fortifications, giving them their 1,500 point army.

Example 2: Jim and Robyn are also going to Battle Brothers and between them they are taking 1,500 points of Tyranids as a single army. Jim will use 900 points of the Tyranids and Robyn will use 600 points, giving them a single 1,500 point army from one Codex.

The Warrior’s CodeWhen attending Battle Brothers, we require that you read and abide by The Warrior’s Code, which is designed to ensure everyone has a fantastic experience. In summary, we expect that:

1. All your miniatures have been produced by Games Workshop (Citadel, Forge World and Warhammer Forge).2. All miniatures in your army must be fully painted.3. All miniatures in your army must be fully based. 4. All miniatures in your army must be fully assembled.5. Your Army List is selected from a current Games Workshop publication. 6. All miniatures in your army must have the correct weapons/equipment as listed.7. You do not use proxies at Warhammer World Events.8. All major conversions are approved by the Warhammer World Events Team in advance of the event. 9. You treat all your opponents in a fair and even handed manner. 10. You embrace the Most Important Rule; play in the spirit of the game and do not get bogged down in the details of

the rules.

Preparing for the EventIn order to attend a Battle Brothers event, you’ll need to prepare an army of miniatures to play with, as well as a number of other things to bring with you. We’ve prepared this checklist for you; if you follow it, you’ll definitely have everything you need!

Your Army ListWhen attending a Battle Brothers event, you’ll need to bring at least two copies of your Army List with you. This is, essentially, a full list of each and every model in your army and what they are armed with. For more information on writing an Army List, visit the online guide Click Here

GamesYou will play five games over the course of the event, lasting up to two and a half hours, and each against a randomly selected opposing team. The scenery will be set-up prior to the event, but if the scenario requires a special terrain feature, it will be provided for you.

Scenarios (including deployment and any number of random objectives) will be randomly generated by the event staff prior to each game, from the Eternal War missions in the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook.

Scoring In each game, your team will score a number of Victory Points as described in the scenario being played. Record these on your result slips prior to handing them in to the event staff. The team who scored the most Victory Points over the course of the event will be declared the Battle Brothers Champions.

In addition, any Team who fully adheres to The Warrior’s Code will receive a bonus 100 Victory Points as our way of rewarding the effort you have made.

At the end of the event, we ask you to vote for the team you most enjoyed playing against. Extra Victory Points are available for each Favourite Game vote your team receives from other teams. To reward great sportsmanship and the effort made to make others enjoy themselves, each vote is worth 5 Victory Points.

The Scribe’s QuillsEvery time we have an event here at Warhammer World, we’re amazed by the quality of the army lists we get handed to us – old dusty tomes, electronic read-outs, scrolls, skulls, fully illustrated books and the like! We even had a huge wooden shield given to us once...

To honour this creativity, we created the Scribes’ Quills award for best army list. This prize goes entirely on presentation, so why not go mad and see what you can create?

The team who is judged by us to have the most extravagant and well-presented set of army lists will win The Scribes’ Quills at the Award Ceremony.

Knights of the Inner CircleWe here at Warhammer World consider sportsmanship and displaying a great attitude to be far and away more important than winning games, and as such, we created a magnificent prize – The Knights of the Inner Circle.

This awesome trophy is awarded to both members of any team which manages to gain 100% of Favourite Game votes over the weekend (10 in total).Such a display of great conduct is worthy of note, and any team who does so is immediately inducted into the Warhammer World Inner Circle of Knights.

Other Activities“The deeds of one bold warrior can alter the course of a battle. I have four such men under my command and our every deed changes the shape of the galaxy.” Sergeant Daegon Incursa, Invaders 1st Company

Everybody has seen those cinematic moments, where one heroic act by an underdog has swung the course of the battle. Using the record sheets provided, note down your most unbelievable stories of heroic deeds; we want narrative-driven stories of hugely defied odds and insurmountable glory like this: • “My Imperial Guard Senior officer, Colonel Volkstaff charged

into a Trygon, The Scourge of Macragge, by himself and killed it in one round of combat with his chainsword!”

• “My last 3 remaining Gretchin from Mokz Minesweeperz fired overwatch shots at Captain Lysander and killed him!” (Note- this actually happened here once...)

The best story of bravery in the face of the enemy will receive the Single Most Heroic Act prize at the Award Ceremony.

The Bugman’s Pub Quiz At our two day events, we hold a pub quiz on Saturday evening. Based entirely on Warhammer 40,000, this quiz boasts favourites such as Guess That Stat-line, Say What You See and Who Would Win? Designed to let you chill out in Bugmans with a drink or two, this is suitable for new players and veterans alike, so why not gather a team of six or less and have a go? The winning team will not only be crowned Bugman’s Rangers at the Award Ceremony, but also receive a free round of drinks on us!

Legends gives you the chance to show off your skills with single models rather

than with whole armies. Simply enter a model in the relevant category when entries are being taken (check the schedule). Once all the entries are in, we ask everyone to vote for their favourites. Whoever gains the most votes in each category will be declared the winner! (Please note - these models can be anything from your collection, so feel free to bring anything, from any games system you like).

The Best Army CompetitionIt’s an honour for any hobbyist to have their army nominated by the Events Staff for the Best Army Competition. Make sure you show your appreciation by voting for your favourite army from those selected at the appropriate time. The winner will be declared The Master Artisan and glory shall be theirs.

FoodIncluded in the ticket price for a Battle Brothers event is lunch on both days for both members of the team. All of our food is freshly prepared in our kitchens by our chefs on the day and served in our restaurant.

If you are staying around on either Friday or Saturday night, why not make an order from Bugman’s menu and eat with us again? Our food is said to have sated the appetites of the most rapacious of Fenrisians and Tyranid beasts, so eat well!

The Award CeremonyAt the end of the Battle Brothers event, we will have an Awards Ceremony, where we will recognise the achievements made by some of the teams. We like to reward every aspect of the hobby, so there is something for everyone, no matter what you love about the Games Workshop hobby. We will be presenting:

• The Battle Brothers Champions: The team who score the most amount of Victory Points over the weekend.

• The Acolytes of War: The team who score the second-highest amount of Victory Points.

• The Aspirants of Glory: The team who score the third-highest amount of Victory Points.

• The Master Artisans: The team who receive the most number of votes for Best Army, as voted for by the players.

• The Scribe’s Quills: The team who are deemed to have the Best Army List.

• Bugman’s Rangers: The team who win the Pub Quiz.• Legends Painting Competition Awards: For the players

who win the Legends Painting Competitions.• The Emperor’s Laurels: The team/teams who recieved the

highest number of Favourite Game Votes.• News from the Front: Single Most Heroic Act:

The player or team who are deemed to have handed in the most heroic story over the event.

• The Warhammer World Knights of the Inner Circle: For outstanding sportsmanship (see below).
