INTRODUCTIONJagran is Hindu religious event, in this event goddess durga maa is worshiped whole night by singing her prayers and praises ,in this event there is a lead singer who sings the durga maa prayers (bhajans) for whole night.

Mostly this kind of holly event is organized by the family whole bears whole cost of the Jagran,

but sometimes people organize holly event in public places, and they do so by collecting the

money from different people of the surroundings, this holly event is starts with the first prayer of

the god Ganesha and (pandit) do the worship of god ganesha after that singer starts singing the

(bhajans) of the lord Ganesha, after that (lead singer/priest) tells the story of TARA Rani who

was the devotee of Durga maa, and in between that singer sings many devotional songs and after

finishing of the story the final thing comes up in that the person who has organized the Jagran do

the final ardas, with that all devotees comes forward and takes (Prasad) from the priest it is

mostly the Halwa and salted grams. This is all about Jagran.

My work is to make a marketing proposal for the event and promotion of the event and the legal

compliance regarding this event.

PROPOSAL OF EVENT

VENUE- ROSHAN GROUND (MODEL TOWN HOSHIARPUR)

As this event is a holly event and it will be held in model town Hoshiarpur (Roshan ground)

resion for this is that in Hoshiarpur in every (in every mohalla of Hoshiarpur there is a

temple)and this is a public Jagran so we need to take care of how to arrange the finances, lead

singer (NARENDAR CHANCHAL) orcatstra group, stage and its decoration statues of durga

maa and other gods like Ganesha, Vishnu, shivji and other gods, proper sitting arrangement for

old age people and elders, lighting , backup of light with generators, sound systems of best

quality, catering ,different stalls of food, tea and snacks, invitation for public through speaker

announcements , hoarding at different places of Hoshiarpur city,

As to do all these arrangements we need finance and for that we need to search sponsors who can

spend their money for this event and other is charitable funds by first making the charity slips

books for Jagran and send some people to different places of the city to collect charity (chanda)

for the event and in return giving them the pay slips, and there are many people who are ready to

sponsor these kind of religious events, other than that, I will go to different companies like coca-

cola and other big shops of Hoshiarpur to sponsor this event for example this is a public event

gathering of people is huge and if T-series gives us sponsorship of sound systems and and

money ,we will allow them to open their kiosks in the stall region of the event with this they can

sale cd,s and they can also promote themselves , same as case with other shops of

sweets(pahalwan) and snacks who gives us sponsorship we allow them to sell their food products

in the stalls and promote themselves. As this event is holly event and we need to gather more and

more people for the event , and if we keep tickets for this event people are not going to come so

we have to make it free and we have make our expenses and revenues from the charity and our

sponsors ,that’s why I have plan to get sponsors for this event, as I already discussed I will get

sponsors from coca-cola, pahalwan sweets, T-series who will give us sponsorship for money as

well as sounding systems and we will allow them to sell their religious cd,s and religious music

in our ambience of our event. And for proper arrangement of sitting arrangements we have to

arrange chair for the VIP and older people and mats for other devotees.

PROMOTIONAL PLAN To promote this religious event I use different channels marketing to promote our event like:-

We will promote our event this ways:

1. THROUGH RICKSHAW ANNOUNCEMENTS

We will use the rickshaw walas to promote the event by fixing a speaker in the rickshaw and do the announcements (first time in your city Narendar chanchal is coming for the jagrata in our city on 15-2-2011Roshan ground, everyone is invited for the Jagran and take blessing from Durga maa and be the part of great holly night with Narendar chanchal).

2. THROUGH HOARDINGS/BANNERS ON DIFFERENT PLACES OF CITY:For the promotion of Jagran event I will apply hoarding in different parts of the city like, I apply hoardings in different markets of Hoshiarpur like in ghanta ghar, sheeshmahal bazaar, and I will apply banners in different parts of the city which are different (mohallas) of the city and we also place banners in different temples of Hoshiarpur, because the religious people come to temple and if they see this kind of holly event is organized in there city they will most probably come to our event .

3. PROMOTION THROUGH PAMPHLETS :The plan to promote the event is pamphlets, I will do like this we will print near about 3000 pamphlets and we will put these pamphlets in the different newspaper because newspaper will reach to different people. and will help us in promoting the event in low cost.

4. THROUGH ADVERTISEMENT IN LOCAL CITY CABLE TELEVISION:I will give advertisement in local cable channel, because this is a local channel and we have the reach to homes of the city and it will really help us to focus their intentions towards our event.

5. PROMOTIONAL THROUGH REGIONAL NEWSPAPER /PR :Another way to promote our event is through AD in Hindi newspaper and as we have good relations with local media of regional newspaper ,they a printing about our event daily and they are also writing in favour of Narendar Chanchal which is creating a positive note in readers mind about the event.

LEGAL COMPLIANCE FOR THE EVENT

1. PERMISSION FOR USING PUBLIC GROUND:

As we are using the public ground of Hoshiarpur we need to take permission from municipal committee, for that we need to pay the fees of using the ground and need a NOC from the municipal committee.

2. PERMISSION DOING EVENT FOR WHOLE NIGHT :

As this is a holly event (Jagrata) so we need to do it for whole night , as per norms we cannot exceed our event more than 11pm but for jagrata which is whole night event ,we need to take special permission from the municipal committee as well the DSP of the city and we have make agree the neighbours’ and we have to take their signatures on the letter that they don’t have any objection for this, after this we need to give this to our police station that we have agreed the neighbors for this event i.e. they don’t have objection regarding this.

3. PERMISSION FOR THE SOUND SYSTEMS AND FOR USING IT LOUDLY :

We also have to take permission regarding the using the sound systems and using it for the whole night, for that we again need NOC from the neighbours after getting this we can go to the police authority and municipal committee that we have no objection certificate,and allow us to us to use sound systems for whole night and at loud sound.

4 . PERMISSION FROM DSP OF THE CITY TO PROVIDE SECURITY : As our event is public event and many VIP,s are coming for the event like MLA of Hoshiarpur, DSP of the city, Mayor of hoshiarpur ,secretary of the municipal committee and Narendar chanchal as well so need a proper security for their protection, for that we need to take permission from the DSP of the city.

4. PERMISSION TO APPLY HOARDINGS AND BANNERS IN THE CITY FROM MUNICIPAL COMMITEE :As we are applying hoarding and banners in different places of the city for that we need to take permission of the municipal committee so that we can paste our ad on different locations of the city.
