If trial hasn’t filled by closing, (9/12/18) late entries (at DOS prices) will be accepted. If trial

hasn’t filled by Day of Show, entries accepted if judging limits have not been reached. En-

tries are limited to 8 hours per day with Crazy 8s limit of 20 dogs per day.

Tentative Start Times & Running Order

There are two trials per day. First trial each day will have Instinct and Crazy 8’s in addition

to Novice through Masters, second trial will be only be Novice through Masters. Running or-

der will be determined before the trial based on entries.

Day of show entries (if available) will be from 7:30am to 8:00AM. Check-in 8:30am, General

briefing at 8:45am, Judges briefing 8:55am, first dog in the ring 9:00am. The judge may take a 30

minute lunch break.

Move Ups: if you finish a title in trial 1 and wish to move up for trial 2, come to the

secretary table and fill out the move up form.

Permission has been granted by the Barn Hunt Association, LLC for the holding of these Barn Hunt trials under BHA

Rules and Regulations. This trial is hosted by RATCH it Up!, with approval from BHA, in conjunction with the AC-

DCA AKC national Specialty. BHA rules are in effect within the marked areas of the BHA show grounds.

There are about 12 electrical hookupson the side of the building for $20/night on a first come/first serve basis. You need to pay the Expo Center for these, and they will remove the locks. Full-service hookups are available at the adjacent Belton RV Park.(254-939-1961) Please note there is an agility trial this weekend and they have the same information for RV.

Competitors are expected to read and understand the current BHA rules prior to

participating in this event.

Bitches in season (BIS) MAY compete at Barn Hunt trials. Trial Chair and/or Secretary must be notified as soon as pos-

sible so that run orders can be adjusted. They will run at the end of each class and are required to wear pants/britches

in the ring. Owners of BIS must crate/confine their dogs in a specified BIS crating area and potty their dogs away from oth-

er dogs. BIS are required to wear panties at all times when out of their crates except when they are being pottied.

Awards Qualifying ribbons will be awarded for each qualifying run in all classes. Ribbons will be awarded for First

through Fourth places in Novice through Master classes and in each height division. Rosettes will be awarded for New Ti-

tles as well as for High in Class Novice, Open, Senior, and Master for each trial. Please contact the Trial Secretary if you

might be earning a RATCH or higher at this trial! As this trial is part of the ACDCA specialty, there will be special place-

ment ribbons for Cattle Dogs, High in Class Cattle Dog awards, and Judges Choice.

Possessing or training with personal, live quarry is not permitted on the show grounds at any time.

All dogs must be on leash at all times except when in the ring.

Exhibitors are responsible to clean up after their dogs. Potty areas designated by the club will be clearly marked.

Exhibitors are responsible for being ready to go to the Blind, in the Blind, and waiting for the call to the gate when

it is their turn to run. The judge need not wait for any dog holding up a class.

RATCH It Up!, ACDCA and the Bell County Expo Center assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or inju-

ry sustained by exhibitors, handlers, spectators, or to any of their dogs, property, or children.

Height Divisions: Small, Dogs 13” & under; Medium, Dogs 13.1” to 18”; Large, Dogs over 18”. Dogs are measured at

the option of the judge. Instinct – Senior & C8s blinds will hold 5 teams. Master blinds will hold 3 teams.

Collars and Leashes - Per BHA rules, electronic collars/devices are not allowed anywhere on the site – this includes

electronic bark collars, citronella collars, and head halters. Flexi style leashes ARE NOT to be used inside any building.

Prong collars may not be used. Approved collars include flat snap or buckle collars of solid construction and leather or ny-

lon leads. Limited slip martingale and single piece slip leads and harnesses are allowed. Dogs will run without a collar or

harness but will enter and exit the ring on a collar or harness. (Remember this trial is held in conjunction with an AKC

event, BHA show grounds will be marked. Outside of the BHA show grounds the AKC rules apply.)

For those new to Barn Hunt, the website has FANTASTIC feature. It will create your entry form for you! You print, sign

and mail it in! Simple!! We encourage you to make use of this feature. (no errors because of hard to read entry

forms!) It isn’t an online entry. It just creates your form and calculates your entry. You just print, sign and mail it!

1.) Go to barnhunt.com.

2.) Go to the Upcoming events, select the trial you wish to enter. (If the trial isn’t open yet it will tell you the date it

opens, if it is open, there will be a link that says create entry. )

3.) Click “Create mail in entry”
