Evaluation task 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?

Target Audience

• The target audience for my thriller film would be people aged 25 and over. The reason for this is because teenagers generally do not go for crime thriller films as sometimes they can get to complicated and hard to follow. Adults have the time and patience to follow a story like that and not lose track of what is happening. Although at the same time it may possibly appeal to teenagers as the antagonist is a student/teenager which could relate to a lot of people.

Music

• I understand that the audience will probably listen to a different range of music. The music that I am using as the soundtrack to my thriller opening is a rock song by Papa Roach which is called between angels and insects. This means that it may appeal to people who listen to rock music rather than people who list to pop or R&B. The soundtrack to the movie if made would consit mainly of rock songs.

Television

• The types of television show that my target audience probably watch are shows such as C.S.I and N.C.I.S which as very good shows that always keep the audience intrigued. They try and get the audience involved with solving the crimes which is what I want to do in my movie. Shows like that commonly have plots with stalkers which are unknown until the end of the program and that always keeps the audience watching which again is what I want to do.

Would It be Enjoyed

• I think it would be enjoyed by people who are fans of crime movies or shows more than fans of the thriller genre overall. The reason for this is because it is a common convention to the crime thriller genre to have the protagonists identity kept a secret and therefore keeps the audience guessing whilst getting them involved to help try and solve the crime.
