OVERVIEW• Throughout the period of time I have been working on the Opening

Title Sequence coursework I have used a range of different technologies to produce an effective and imaginative final product, this include; blogger.com, Camera (and equipment), Windows Live Movie Maker, Prezi.com, PowerPoint and YouTube.

BLOGGER.COM

• This was the first step I took in starting the coursework. I had never created a blog before so had to create an account with blogger which involved creating a google account. Once I made an account and set the basics of the blog up I found it quite easy to get to grips with.

• I started by just uploading text posts with some images but as time went on I was able to add links and embed other things like presentations (from prezi.com) and slideshare.com) and videos from other websites which then could make more blog more effective.

• The only difficulty I had with a few text posts on the blog once uploaded was that some of the sentences had seemed to be highlighted which just makes the post look quite odd compared to the others. To try and undo the automatic highlighting of the text I asked my teacher and other members of my class who also didn’t know how to do it so I was unable to change it.

WINDOWS LIVE MOVIE MAKER • I used Windows Live Movie Maker as I wanted to edit my opening

sequence at home and this is the program I could use without any extra costs.

• I had used it once before for my GCSE media coursework so was little familiar with the basics of the software like adding text on screen and changing the timings of each scene.

• For this course I used the Movie Maker for all the pieces of work in a video format which included the practise task, preliminary task, First Attempt At Recording, final task and feedback videos.

• I found the software easy to use as everything was ordered and easy to find. I was able to add interesting transition effects and different text effects too making the sequence a lot more professional looking and effective.

• I had to save the video in a special format to be compatible with YouTube.

CAMERA AND EQUIPMENT

• For all of the filming opportunities I used my Canon EOS 600D DSLR camera. Even though I have the camera for my photography class but it also has a good video setting.

• It was simple to use as all I had to do was switch the camera to the movie setting and make sure the sound settings were set to auto. All I had to do then was just press the record button.

• I also used a tripod to attach the camera to so it was easier to set up camera shots without having to worry about the camera falling at all. It was also vital to use a tripod especially that I was acting in the sequence so wasn’t able to be on camera and hold it at the same time.

PREZI.COM• This was the first time I had ever used prezi.com. • I found it very easy to use as everything is laid out so it can

be found easily. • I have used Prezi presentation for a number of blog posts

including Audience research, editing process and evaluation questions.

• I didn’t find any of the site difficult to use although when I was first creating Prezi Presentations I would just copy and paste the link into a blog post but then I learnt that I was able to embed the presentation into a blog post so viewers on my blog could play the presentation through my blog.

POWERPOINT • Having used PowerPoint for many years already I felt very

confident when using the software to create my production company logos (Rgetography Productions and Cityscape Pictures.) and the Evaluation presentations which I posted via SlideShare.

• I created the Rgetography logo by collecting individual images of the Film Reel and an image of an actual film. I had the film reel role across the screen and the title follow after it. I did this by duplicating the slide slowly moving and rotating the reel on every slide until it reaches the other slide when I do the same for the title.

• I used a photo of a silhouette cityscape of London for the background of the logo. I then had the title slowly fly in until centralised to the background image.

• To create the responses to the Evaluation via SlideShare I made a basic presentation format and responded to the question I was answering.

SLIDESHARE.NET• This is the first time I have ever used SlideShare ,

it was easy to set up an account and then all I had to do was upload the PowerPoint presentation to the website fill in the a description about the presentation, set it as a public presentation and then copy the link to embed the slides onto my blog.

YOUTUBE.COM

• YouTube was the website I uploaded my videos to where I then embedded them onto my blog.

• As YouTube is a part of google accounts I did no have to create a new account.

• All I had to do was click the upload button, make the video unlisted (so only people with the link can view it) fill in a description and tags section and then just wait for it to upload.

• Then I copied the embed link to my blog and upload the blog post.

• I discovered that it was quicker to upload video from school as the internet speed must be a lot faster. Other than this everything whilst using YouTube ran smoothly.
