WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY? Future: I think that future media may distribute my product as it mainly caters for males. For example it mainly has sport/gaming magazines such as; Mountain biking UK and XBOX UK. This means that if they took on my media product it would mean that they would be then catering for both genders, and not primarily males. They do however have 10 music magazines, again not very well heard of or aimed at males. This means that my media product would add a whole new dimension to the institution as my product is aimed at young teenage girls. This would give the institution a wider range of audiences as more would be catered for. Benefitting the business as they would attract a wider range of people to buy their magazines and not males who may not buy it every week/month. They also may distribute my magazine as it is a modern magazine that keeps up with the charts, therefore it will always be up to date and people may read it to keep up with the new music. Therefore it will have repeat buyers who want to read it to stay in with the times, therefore increasing sales for the institution. IPC Media: However IPC Media may also distribute my magazine as their brand identity is more based around specific hobbies. Therefore they may benefit from having a product which appeals to a much wider audience. They sell magazines such as; Amateur Gardening and Pick Me Up. This means that they are aimed mainly at older audiences not so much younger ones, so could again benefit from featuring a product aimed at a young teenage audience. It would widen their audience as it would not be aimed at one specific group of people but appeal to people who like the pop chart. This would be a gap in the market as they do not already have a music magazine aimed at a younger audience.
