• To evaluate the lint yield and fiber quality of 72 different genotypes across three different irrigation levels • To examine any trends that might have occurred, either within an environment or across environments.

Page 3: "Evaluation of Yield And Fiber Trait Responses Across Irrigation Treatments"

• To focus on the adaptability of genotype performance as it is affected by water availability.

•To gain valuable knowledge that can be used as groundwork for future studies with similar interests.

Page 26: "Evaluation of Yield And Fiber Trait Responses Across Irrigation Treatments"

• There are strong interactions between genotypes and the environment

• Environmental affect varied among genotypes

• The presence of such a strong interaction should be accounted for in breeding programs

Page 27: "Evaluation of Yield And Fiber Trait Responses Across Irrigation Treatments"

• Trends were somewhat unpredictable

• Choosing an environment for selections is important yet EXTREMELY challenging

•One single environment should not be used for selections.

Page 28: "Evaluation of Yield And Fiber Trait Responses Across Irrigation Treatments"
Page 29: "Evaluation of Yield And Fiber Trait Responses Across Irrigation Treatments"

• Base irrigation levels on estimated ETs• 25%, 50%, and 75%

• Fewer number of entries•20 - 30

• More than one location• at least 2 maybe 3

• Included a rain fed treatment•having a dry-land component would be very beneficial

• Expect the Unexpected!
