    NIESBUD is an apex institute in the area of

    entrepreneurship and small business developmentunder the Ministry of micro, small & mediumenterprises Government of India. The basic objectsfor which the Institute has been established are :

    The present growth and success of EDPs in backward

    areas is far from satisfactory. It is observed thatefforts made by various institutions have been limitedand somewhat haphazard. The programes conductedby various agencies vary in duration, selection process

    and course contents etc. the contribution of EDPs hasbeen very uneven among various areas and states.

    development. Entrepreneurial development in India has beennow conducted for a long time, and sophisticated selectiontechniques and training methodology have been developed.The programme integrates identification and training ofpotential entrepreneurs, identification of viable industrial

    projects and developing managerial capabilities.

    Hence entrepreneurship education should be made more

    socially useful. It is, nevertheless, imperative to restructurethe entire curriculum- should identify the area ofentrepreneurship.

    Efforts are needed to be made to overcome the discussedproblems and weaknesses of our country and to ensureefficient EDPs to serve the entrepreneurial need of theentire nation.
