Conclusion:Kanter Elementary is improving their technology use to make curriculum adaptable tothe new generation of 21st century learners. After completing this school evaluationsummary, Kanter would be placed in the Islands category. It fits in this location becauseof the ongoing processes of technology use planning and its continuing changes. Kanterhas a strong staff and administrative support, but they are still in the process ofimplementing technology in classroom learning environments. As of now, they arelacking in a consistent overall plan to prepare teachers to use technology and thedifferent resources available for professional development. Kanter is currently starting toget serious about the role technology plays to motivate the learning process of children. If the school district continues to encourage technology use it will give the students theopportunity to relate to their own experiences. It will also give teachers a chance to trysomething new that may be challenging.
Kanter is not extremely behind in the technological devices being used, but there are noset guidelines or expectations for technology use. This is one of the main reasons theyfall in the Islands category. Help, support, and communication are the keys to taking thisschool from Islands to Integrated.
