2 USING THE EV3151 FOR THE FIRST TIME

2.1 Initial RequirementsSoftware RequirementsInstallation and conguration require the following:• Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP Operating System• Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 or higher

Other browsers (i.e. Mozilla Firefox) are not currently supported.

Install EtroScan™EtroScan™ is a utility is used to configure network settings for IP cameras and other devices (i.e. NVR). EtroScan™ is available via two methods.Install EtroStation™ 3.0EtroStation™ 3.0 includes the EtroScan™ utility. EtroStation™ is on the product CD that accompanies the EV3151. Please refer to the EtroStation™ documentation for installation instructions.Download from Etrovision’s WebsiteEtroScan™ can also be downloaded from Etrovision’s website. It is available in the Software Tools section of the Download area, http://www.etrovision.com/Download_list.aspx?no=5.After downloading the archived file, extract the contents and run Setup.exe to install EtroScan.

2.2 Physical IP Camera Connections Connect to the NetworkConnect the EV3151 to network hub/switch via a standard CAT5 Ethernet cable with an RJ-45 connector. Please note that the PC must be on the same network domain as the IP camera. Connect CCTV to Video ServerUse the BNC Video In port to connect the camera with the EV3151. Connect PTZ (EV3151 Only)For PTZ functionality, connect the PTZ device to the EV3151 RS-485 PTZ port.

Properly align the wiring and terminals when connecting; an improper connection can damage the camera.

Connect Audio In/Out (EV3151A Only)For audio functionality, connect the audio input cable.

Power on IP CameraConnect the power adapter to the power connector. The adapter should be connected to 110v~22OV AC socket. There is no power button on the camera, so connecting/disconnecting the power adapter will start/shutdown the IP camera.2.3 Initial Network CongurationTo congure the IP camera’s network settings use the EtroScan™ utilityFactory IP AddressBelow are the initial factory IP address settings for the IP camera:

Using EtroScan™EtroScan™ allows users to easily nd an IP camera and congure the settings.

Select EtroScan™ from the start menu to start.

Press the Scan button to list the IP and MAC address list for IP cameras on the network. A new IP camera will display the factory IP address, 192.168.1.2. However, if multiple new devices are present on the network, then multiple instances of 192.168.1.2 will be listed.

To identify a specic IP camera, use the MAC address which is located on the bottom of the camera. Below is an example of the label displaying the MAC address.

Change Network Setting via EtroScan™There are two ways to modify the network settings.

1. Double click on a specic IP address; the setting page will be displayed.2. Click Change Setting… button at the bottom of the screen.Either method will display the network settings conguration.

After altering the IP camera network settings, click Apply. A prompt for the administrator authentication will be displayed:

The default password for the administrator account (root) is pass. Enter the default password and click OK to conrm the changes.After applying the new network settings, the IP camera will reboot; this process takes about 45 seconds. The IP camera’s Power LED light will blink during the reboot process; the light will become stable once reboot is complete. Exit the “Setting Page” by clicking Close, and wait for the reboot to complete.After rebooting, press Scan to verify the new IP address. If using DHCP, then theMAC address may be necessary to accurately identify a specic camera. Press Exit to quit EtroScan™.

2.4 Access the IP Camera Web InterfaceMS Internet Explorer is used to access and congure the IP camera. When accessing an IP camera using the web interface for the rst time, some conguration for ActiveX controls may be required.1. Open the IE browser2 Type in the IP address of the IP camera3. Enter the administrator username and password:User name: rootDefault password: pass

Press OK button to access to the Live View web page.

Usernames and passwords are case sensitive.

The administrator password should be changed after installation is complete. Please refer to the User Manual for more information

Upon login, the error “ActiveX control failed to load (OCX)” may be encountered.

The error indicates the browser requires adding certain ActiveX controls for the viewer to work. Near the top of the browser page is a message regarding an add-on to run. The request is highlighted below in blue.

Clicking on the add-on message will bring up options; choose Run Add-on to add.

A conrmation message box will be displayed; choose Run.

Wait for the add-on to complete and the page to attempt reloading. Most likely other ActiveX controls will be required. Repeat the above procedure of adding ActiveX controls until the no other add-on requests are displayed and the Live View page loads without error.

3 ETROLINK™ CONFIGURATION PORT

The EtroLink™ USB Conguration Port provides an alternate method of conguration. The EtroLink™ USB Conguration allows conguration using a Quick Cong Wizard which requires no software installation.

3.1 OS RequirementsThe PC which will access the IP camera using the EtroLink™ USB port requires the following to run the EtroLink™ Quick Cong Wizard:• Windows XP (all editions) • Windows 2000 (all editions) • Windows 98 (SE)Windows XP should run the wizard automatically.Windows 2000 and 98(SE) require manually running the EtroLink™ Quick Config Wizard.

3.2 Setup Using the EtroLink™ Config PortThe following discusses using the EtroLink™ Config Port using Windows XP. With the exception of the automatic execution of the Quick Cong Wizard, the process is the same among all the Microsoft versions noted above.A demonstration of how to manually start the Quick Config Wizard will be provided at the end of this section.

Connecting the IP camera to the PC1. Unplug the IP camera’s power cable and network cable2. Connect EtroLink™ and PC via the mini USB cable.3. Once the PC detects the IP camera, wait for a pop-up dialog prompting the user for a program choice. 4. “Config Wizard” should already be highlighted; click OK.

The network conguration options include “Static IP”, “DHCP”, and “PPPoE”. Select an option and click Next.

Enter all the relevant network settings, and click Next.

Change the port information if applicable, and then click Next. First a conrmation dialogue will be displayed.

Click OK to proceed to Step 4.

Select Setup DDNS to congure DDNS or Finish to exit the Quick Cong Wizard.

Manually Starting the Quick Cong WizardWhen using Windows 2000 or 98, the EtroLink™ Quick Cong Wizard will not be automatically started after connecting the IP camera and PC. To start it manually:.1. Connect the IP camera and PC using the mini USB cable.2. Wait a moment for the PC to recognize the IP camera as a new drive.3. Using Windows Explorer, nd the IP camera represented as a new drive. The Etrovision logo should help identify the specic drive.

4. Highlight the drive (i.e. E:) to view he contents.5. Find the “ClickMeFirst” HTML le, and double click.The Quick Cong utility will be initiated using Internet Explorer.

3.3 Factory DefaultThe factory default settings can be restored using the Quick Cong Wizard.

Restoring factory settings will result in the loss of the current IP camera’s conguration. In the “User’s Manual”, see “System Conguration” in the Maintenance chapter for more information on backup & restore functionality.

From the Quick Cong “Status” page, click “Factory Default”.

Click OK to proceed.

Disconnect the IP camera from the PC and click OK. The IP camera can now be accessed via the factory default network settings.

3.4 Missing root PasswordIf the root password has been forgotten, then factory settings will need to berestored using the EtroLink™ USB port.At the Quick Cong login screen, use CTRL+ALT+F to restore factory settings

Click OKThe video server/camera will now be congured with the default 192.168.1.2 IP address, and the default username/password of root/pass.Use EtroScan or the Web UI to manually recongure the device, or a backup conguration can be restored if available.
