Euthanasia

It means when your doctor or someone else intentionally causes your death, before your death is caused naturally by disease or by an old age.

Medical Science Euthanasia has been prohibited by the medical profession for

more than two thousand years.

Proposing euthanasia indicates a lack of confidence in the

progress of medical science.

Putting a patient to death is not the only option in the medical field, maybe there will be a cure for them in the future.

Doctor and physician’s job

To kill the pain, not the patient.

There are no limits imposed on the physician’s means of relieving pain.

In extreme cases, heavy sedation that puts patients to sleep can even be a last resort to sustain through their suffering, until death takes place from natural causes.

Doctors should play two roles

1) Must use up all scientific effort for the relief from the pain

2) Should stand by the patient as the man or woman who tenders the hope and not as the executioner who leads to death

Is Euthanasia a Solution? Accepting that giving death could be a solution to one problem

opens door to giving death to a hundred other. Euthanasia becomes a “treatment option” that people can turn

to for relieving their suffering Young people who are chronically ill will invoke anti-

discrimination law to support their request for assisted suicide. This will erode people’s bond of confidence in profession as

whole. Giving patients the right to die means giving doctors the right

to kill

Medical Technology Development The advances in medical science in the recent past have been inspiring.

Some medical conditions, which were though to be incurable earlier, can now be cured.

The advances in medical technology have made it possible to completely cure several types of deadly diseases: Pneumonia, Malaria, Cancer, Kidney failure, etc.

The diseases that we might think to be incurable today, might be completely curable tomorrow.
