• Testing or statistical methods?
• How is test performed?
• Reliability and how is it affected?
Extended Temperature Range – a Lot of Questions
• Do you trust statistics? We do not. Using industrial temperature components can not replace module testing.
• Eurotech defines -40 to +85ºC on the heatsink surface in still air. Surface temperature monitored in test.
• Testing ONLY when commercial temperature components are used. CPUs are all tested and qualified.
•Testing performed using a structural heatsink mass in still air, some suppliers test using forced airflow.
• Top temperature only 15 minutes not to degrade reliability and MTBF.
