POSTGRADUATE DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMME IN EUROPEAN STUDIES
IN GERMAN LANGUAGE IN KALININGRAD / WUPPERTAL 2014/15
Until July 25th, 2014, graduates from all disciplines worldwide
can apply for the postgraduate programme in European Studies, term
2014/2015, organised by the Kaliningrad Europe Institute Klaus
Mehnert (EIKM). The course is currently the only post graduate
study programme in European Studies taught in German language in
Russia and offers its graduates two degrees in only one year a
Russian diploma an a German Master of Arts. Curriculum The first
term of the one year programme includes lectures in seven modules:
European History and Politics, European Law, European Economy,
European Culture, European Social Policies, Russia and European and
Baltic Affairs. Additionally, students are required to take a
language course, according to their choice either in English,
French or Russian. In the summer semester, students can choose
between a practical semester or a continuation of the European
Studies programme at the Bergische University of Wuppertal,
Germany.
In the option of the practical-semester, students should
complete an internship of at least two months in an international
organisation of their choice. The study year is completed by a
diploma-thesis and ends with a Russian diploma.
Alternatively, the co-operation with the Bergische University of
Wuppertal offers EIKM students to supplement their studies in
Wuppertal in the Masters programme European Studies. Upon
successful completion of this programme, students will receive a
Russian and a German diploma in form of a Master of Arts (M.A.).
For study in German, students are provided with grants from the
DAAD.
One of the best graduates from each year is granted with the
Willy Brandt Prize of the Socialist Group in the European
Parliament and wins a 3-month internship in Brussels and Strasburg.
Application Applications for the academic year 2014/15 can be
submitted until July 25
th, 2014. Main qualifications
for the application are a successful completion of a higher
education (at least 4 years) and a good command of German language
skills. The study year in Kaliningrad starts 15th of September,
