ST-ART, A PLACE OF ENCOUNTERS
Taking part in ST-ART means forging links with the cultural stakeholders
of the Strasbourg region.
Visiting ST-ART is an opportunity for Strasbourg’s cultural institutions
to discover new artists and enrich their collections.
ST-ART, AT THE HEART OF EUROPE
Located just a few steps from the seat of the European Union, the contemporary art fair finds expression in a rich local cultural scene, including HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin), FRAC (contemporary art venue based in Sélestat) and Apollonia European art centre, thriving in the heart of Europe.
ST-ART gives the public the chance to explore new artistic fields and make fresh discoveries.
Each year’s guest art critic sets the tone of the fair by selecting a range of artists in a professional and didactic manner.
Born in the United States in the 1970s, Street Art encom-passes all urban art forms: stencilling, graffiti, tagging, etc.
Although big names such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Ernest Pignon and Jérôme Mesnager quickly made the movement part of contemporary art history, it was not until the 2000s that a new generation would enter the galleries and capture a significant slice of the art market.

STREET ART
It was not until the 1970s that photography was truly recognised as an art form in its own right, involving the creation of works, not through physical actions, but by the capture of light.
Having previously invited the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) as its guest of honour, ST-ART is keen to develop the presence of photography in the fair ever further.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Committed to the strong representation of printmaking in Strasbourg, ST-ART has always included a certain number of publishers or galleries specialising in printmaking and multiples in its exhibition space.
With over 500 artists, ST-ART steps beyond its segmentation to showcase painters and sculptors
both past and present. From Miro to Florence Dussuyer, by way of Sol LeWitt and Laurent Impeduglia, ST-ART offers, over the course
of five days,a broad spectrum of artistic creation, featuring renowned as well
as emerging artists.
