… TO WROCLAW !

Dear friends,

UEFA believes strongly in the power of football to unite individuals, groups and entire nations. Football can be used as a bridge for commu-nication between the many diverse European cultures and societies. These attributes were reflected throughout UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine, which were the first ever European Football Championship finals to take place in Eastern Europe. UEFA also believes that such an event should leave behind a long-lasting legacy and, to this end, we are proud to have implemented RESPECT your Health – Euroschools 2012, the official community health education pro-gramme of UEFA EURO 2012, in which over 50,000 children and young people took part in Poland and Ukraine. As another example of our commitment to leaving a legacy that extends beyond the football field, we are happy to welcome you to Wroclaw for the final highlight of UEFA EURO 2012:the RESPECT your Health Eurocamp 2012!

Peter Gillieron, Chairman of the UEFA Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee

The RESPECT your Health Eurocamp 2012 will draw on the positive experiences of UEFA EURO 2012 and foster intercultural exchanges between young people from all 53 UEFA member countries during five exciting days full of new encounters, fair play, learning and respect. Together, we can make this event a huge suc-cess, reaching beyond the football pitch and passing on positive and long-lasting values.

Have a great time!

EUROCAMP 2012

RESPECT your Health - Euroschools 2012 is the official community health education pro-gramme of this year’s UEFA EURO 2012. The one-year project aimed to promote healthy lifestyles, with a focus on smoking prevention, responsible alcohol consumption, healthy diet and physical activity among young people and their families in Poland and Ukraine. Through a train the trainers approach, local institutions and NGOs in the eight UEFA EURO 2012 Host Cities were empowered to activate their com-munities and promote healthy living. During the past year, Polish and Ukrainian com-munities have established a pool of over 600RESPECT your Health volunteers offering a variety of healthy lifestyle activities for

children, young people and their families. Regular workshops for teachers, coaches and community workers, a specially developed guidebook, an interactive website and a phy-sical activity school programme called Muuvit from Finland are just a few of the tools that helped the project reach out to over 50,000 kids across Poland and Ukraine.

RESPECT your Health Eurocamp 2012 is the final highlight of UEFA EURO 2012 and RESPECT your Health. The girls and boys from the eight UEFA EURO 2012 Host Cities will be joined by young people from around 50 UEFA nations at Eurocamp 2012 to cele-brate Europe´s diversity, football and health.

RESPECT your Health Eurocamp 2012 is far more than just a football event; it is a celebration of the beautiful game and its power to bring people from different back-grounds together. With financial support from the European Commission and in associ- ation with UEFA and the City of Wroclaw, Eurocamp 2012 brings together around 250 people from diverse social backgrounds invi-ted from 53 nations for five days of intercultural workshops, football, learning and fun.

Eurocamp 2012 in Poland will be a “global village” experience with young people from all over Europe coming together, speaking a range of different languages and representing many different cultures. Delegates will spend the first few days in interactive workshops on various topics such as fair play and youth so-cial entrepreneurship, the EU’s role in youth and sport development, as well as learning

more about social inclusion and cohesion through various integrated activities. These workshops provide an excellent opportunity for the participants to demonstrate and de-velop leadership skills and build new friend-ships. These will be further strengthened by a mixed-teams football tournament which will conclude Eurocamp 2012.

Young Leader teamEurocamp 2012 uses a very special approach by actively engaging young leaders to support the implementation of the event. A group of 32 young people from Development through Football organisations from across Europe were selected based on their active involve-ment, strong commitment and leadership skills. During a preparatory meeting, they were trained by KICKFAIR in Germany to prepare for their role and learn how to mediate a football3 tournament.

experience what treating others fairly – and being treated fairly – means.

football3 is a game of “three halves” where the teams come together prior to

the match to discuss the rules, then play and then come back again

to reflect upon the game.

The Door is a non-governmental orga-

nization based in Shkoder in northern

Albania, near the Montenegrin border.

We support people in need, mainly

children, using football for education

and social inclusion. The Door orga-

nises the “Play for Peace” football

festivals in different villages, friendly

matches to foster exchange with teams

from neighbouring countries and par-

ticipates regularly in the Norway Cup.

Our projects are supported by

Norwegian Aid, local communes,

private donors and the Albanian

Football Association.

At Eurocamp 2012, we hope to learn

more about social inclusion, fair play

football, make friends with the other

participants and hear other success

stories.

The Andorran Football Federation con-

tributes to the fight against racism and

other forms of discrimination following

such mottoes as “breaking barriers”,

“integrity” or “stop racism”. We aim to

promote fair play and non-violence on

and off the football field.

Our FA seeks to collaborate with enti-

ties like UNICEF, Special Olympics or

La Gavernera (Children’s Care Home)

to foster education of socially dis-

advantaged children. These collabo-

rations result in friendly matches

between the institutions and support

of their programmes, e.g. by sending

shirts, balls and other equipment to

UNICEF projects in Africa.

We are all very happy to take part in

Eurocamp 2012!

The International Allstar League Graz

is a cooperation project, established

in 2011, between the youth center

Don Bosco and the Sports Integra-

tion Qualifikation (SIQ) project in

cooperation with the Austrian Inte-

gration Fund. Teams from different

districts of Graz play in tournaments

against each other.

The points awarded for winning are

equal to fair play points. Points are

awarded for participating in work-

shops and Allstar League Meetings.

The Austrian participants for

Eurocamp 2012 are participants

in the Allstar League. It was very

challenging to only select four par-

ticipants. They are looking forward

to this unique event, which we will

remember for a very long time.

Our Federation understands the

unique role of football in society. Our

key philosophy of fairness “access

equality at any ability and opportunity

level” lies at the core of all our social

programmes.

We organize different events such

as “Unified Grassroots Day” and

“Football Holidays with ABFF” where

students and children with special

needs and from disadvantaged so-

cial backgrounds actively participate

in healthy lifestyle education, vari-

ous football competitions and mas-

ter classes by famous players and

coaches.

The trip to Eurocamp will be a novel

experience for us. We hope it will

contribute to the further development

of healthy lifestyle, self-confidence,

friendliness and broadmindedness

among all the participants.

What is football? Some people may

believe that it is just a sport, but it is

so much more. At the Football Fe-

deration of Bosnia and Herzegovina

we believe that football is a way of

life. It is the only tool that can over-

come challenges such as national-

ism, racism and give people from

different backgrounds a chance to

prove themselves. We have decided

to give an opportunity to four young

people from completely different

backgrounds to participate in Euro-

new environment, meet other young

people, gain new experiences and

make new friends.
