For decades drilling rigs have been seen as noisy, pollutingand dangerous work places. This picture has changed sincesafety and environmental concerns became part of the dailyoperation. There is a land drilling rig that represents thischange most – the EURO RIG™ 250 mt AC.

This modular built drilling rig is engineered with a fast-movephilosophy. It has been developed in close liaison with ourcustomers, to fulfill the special requirements of theEuropean market. The box-on-box substructure enablesefficient rig moves on European road with standard trucks.

The modular substructure consists of four boxes and threedrill floor parts with integrated drilling equipment like rotarytable, roughneck, winches, hydraulic cathead, HP manifold,tong post etc. These boxes are used to house noise emittingcomponents, such as the centralized hydraulic power unit.The integration of drilling equipment in substructure boxesand on drill floor parts reduces significant the rig movetimes, since the equipment remains installed and internallyconnected during road transport.

The vertical lift mast consists of three units with an A-frame.The dimensions of the main mast parts are reduced toEuropean road transport limitations. Integrated hydraulicwinches ensure the vertical mast lift. There are noexceptional road permissions required, except for

drawworks and mud pumps. The equipment fitted to the rigallows performance drilling; a good choice for ourcustomers. The overall required rig location size is minimal,as all ancillary equipment is placed very compact around therig.

The EURO RIG™ 250 mt is built in compliance to the latestEuropean regulations; low emission and fully ATEX certified.The maximum sound level is 55 dBA in one hundred metersdistance to noise sources.

The small foot print of 40 x 55 meters reduces padconstruction cost significantly.

The containerized substructure, vertical lift mast,modularized mud tank system and optimized transport unitsallow for moving the approx. 55 truck loads of the EURORIG™ 250 mt within five days.

The main drilling equipment is AC driven but can bedelivered as DC upon customer’s request. The EURO RIG™250 mt is designed by Bentec’s engineering team to meetcustomer’s needs and resulted in the fabrication of the mostmodern European land drilling rig.
