CEN - standardization




CEN issues European Standards (EN)

the EN standards are available at national standardization bodies (SRPS www.iss.rs)

the EN standards are normally not obligatory

the EN standards can be made obligatory if directly reffered to in the regulations

the EN standards are worked-out in the working groups (WG) of the CEN Technical Committees

(CEN/TC)

in principle any organization of industrial enterprises can propose and work-out a

standard

generally: elaboration of some 40 standards on calculation of energy performance in buildings

directive 89/106/EEC: Construction Product Directive (CPD) [from 1989]

replaced on 9th March 2011 by the regulation 305/2011/EC (CPR)

regarding construction products the CPR is valid from 1st July 2013

insulation products in conformity with the standards can get the CE-mark based on

initial type test (ITT)

factory production control (FPC) + inspection

certificate of conformity (issued by notified body, obligatory for fire classes C and over)

declaration of conformity [of performance under CPR] (issued by the producer)

the CE-mark for insulation products is compulsory until 1st August 2012
