As a European citizen you have the right of residence in Sweden and may study without a residence permit. If you would like to stay longer than three months, you have to register your right of residence with the Swedish Migration Board.

What attachments are required in the application?It is important that you submit the documents requested by the Migration Board to ensure that you are registered as quickly as possible. It is also important that you submit all the documents requested at the same time.

Enclose following documents when you apply:•a copy of a valid passport or national identity card proving your citizenship

•a certificate stating that you have been admitted to full-time study

•assurance signed by yourself that you have sufficient funds for your support

•documented proof that you have comprehensive health insurance that is valid in Sweden. The European health insurance card is valid.

Residence permit card

Those who receive a residence permit will be given a residence permit card. The card is proof of your residence permit.

In order for the Migration Board to be able to issue a residence permit card, you will be photographed and will need to submit fingerprints when you receive your residence permit. You will be given more information in your decision.
