Birchot Hav’dalah

[There are three ritual objects used for the Separation [Havdalah] ceremony: the wine, the spices, and the twisted candle. Together they are a feast for the senses; taste, touch, smell, hearing, and sight; to help us remember the joy, and light of Shabbat at the end of

this holy day. First, we raise the cup of wine and together we say the blessing.] For the Jews there was light and gladness, joy and honor. So may it be for us! With your permission, distinguished gentlemen and scholars: [Altogether: L’chaim!] We thank You, our Father, for the Holy Vine or Your servant David. Yours is the glory.

[This three-braided candle is a symbol of the blessed unity of the G-dhead – ADONAI, The Memra, & The Ruach; or The Priest, Scribes and the People of Yisrael; Three lights burning as One-United in Echad]

[Don’t drink the cup yet, but set the cup back down. Lift the container of spices]

[Besides the sweetness of Shabbat these spices remind us of the sweetness of Elohim’s love and His preservation of Am Yisrael amongst all peoples.]

Blessing The Fire Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melach

ha-olam, borei m'orei ha'eish. Blessed are You, Adonai our Elohim, King of the universe, creator of the lights of fire. [Amen]

[Everyone should extend their hands toward the light noting the distinction between light and darkness, in the reflections and shadows of the fire on you palm with fingers bended or through your fingers. Everyone should gaze into the fire as you life the cup in your right hand once more.]

Hamavdil Bein Kodesh Baruch atah, Adonai, Elohaynu melech ha'olam, hamavdil bayn kodesh lechol

bayn or lechoshech bayn Yisrael la'amim bayn yom hashevi'i leshayshet yemay

l’chol, chatoteinu hu yim’chol, zareinu v’chaspeinu yarbeh kachol,

v’chakochavim ba’lailah.

Blessed are you, Adonai, our Eloheinu, King of the universe; Who separates between the holy and common; Between light and darkness, between Yisrael and the nations; Between the seventh day and the six days of labor; Blessed are You, Adonai, May the one who separates between holy and secular. Forgive our sins and increase our offspring and our wealth to be numerous like the dust and like the nighttime stars! [Amen]

[Put the candle and fire out in the Kiddush cup by dipping it in the wine and pouring the wine over it then we sing:]

Shavua Tov! Shavua tov, shavua tov, shavua tov... A good week, a week of peace, May gladness reign

and joy increase.

Do not seek after what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not worry. For the Goy seek after all these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek His kingdom, and all will be added to you. Do not fear, little flock, for Your Father

desired to give you the kingdom.

Elijah the prophet, Elijah the Tishbite. Elijah of Gilead. Soon, in our days, Elijah will come with Ha’Mashiach, the Son of David

[Because Eliyahu is going to be the harbinger of the Messianic Age, as Shabbat is a taste of the world to come, we look forward to the eternal Shabbat rest in the

Millennial kingdom. We pray that Eliyahu will visit us on Shabbat, much like we look for him at Pesach. We hope that we will see the coming of Mashiach before next

Shabbat.]

Behold, I Am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me to repay each man according to his works. I Am the Alef and the Tav, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. The One who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I Am coming quickly.” Amen, come, O Master Yeshua. May the grace of the Master Yeshua be upon us all.
