Programme outlineWhat is phrasal verb? With the explanation of the presenter Kent, you can understand its meaning more easily. Let’s learn some common two-word phrasal verbs with “up” and “down” in this programme.

Suggested activities1. Write the words “up” and “down” on the board. Elicit examples of two-word
phrasal verbs with “up” or “down” that pupils know, e.g., get up, sit down.2. Ask pupils to brainstorm more phrasal verbs with “up” and “down”. Write them on
the board.3. Explain to pupils that native speakers of English like to use phrasal verbs very
often. Understanding phrasal verbs means better comprehension when reading and listening.
4. In this programme, phrasal words are introduced in the dialogues in four contexts. a. The presenter Kent in Ocean Park

5. Watch the programme together. Then after watching, distribute the worksheets to pupils.
