The fourth annual Macedon Ranges Art Trail brochure is the result of a fabulous collaborative effort. I believe it is a valuable and attractive

resource for connecting with our extraordinary artistic community, and one that will find a place in many homes, businesses and venues. It is again downloadable from http://www.visitmace-donranges.com/see-do/arts-culture/ This year’s publication was fully funded by the 41 participating individuals, groups and businesses. It supports the Art Trail’s key objectives of promoting local artists, encour-aging the development of creative potential and giving the public a better appreciation of our artistic community. Our artists have been grouped according to their residential locations. The four coloured zones on the cover map are a guide to how the individuals are listed inside the brochure. Every artist is available to visit by appointment throughout the year. Most have websites or use social media to make their work accessible for viewing before a meeting is arranged. Most are also available for commissions -they are simply a phone call away. The galleries and businesses on the Art Trail have made a commitment to local artists; assisting sales, providing exhibition spaces, creating networks, offering products and services, facilitating employment, and building skills and knowledge. They can also be explored online

ahead of visiting but, similarly to making a personal connection with an artist, the most fulfilling experiences happen on the ground. In 2016/17 there will be more opportunities for the public to appreciate the Macedon Ranges Art Trail. Group exhibitions and open studios are part of the plan. Private tour bookings are very welcome and can be discussed by phone or email. If you would like to know what’s happening around the galleries and within other art circles browse the Diary. Cross-reference with your other calendars to avoid missing out on what interests you the most. What’s published here is a mere fragment of the abundance of attractions in the Macedon Ranges for art appreciators. Our Facebook page shines a spotlight on our artistic community all year long.

Happy Trails!
